1990 Vegan Living is a beautiful place near a nice small park in Berlin, with beautiful and lovely staff and really delicious copious food! Outside, the tables have 4-legged stools that look like the ones you can find anywhere in venues in the streets of Vietnam. The price is fair in general (I only got 3 items) but my drink, the Thom Dua, I felt it was overpriced since I finished it in 3 sips because the glass wasn't so big and the ice cubes were huge.

This place was recommended to me by a vegan local. We ordered the Ha Cao dumplings, seaweed salad, and King Kong bowl. Our favorites were the dumplings and seaweed salad. Overall the bowl wasn’t very flavorful or spicy but the tofu and proteins were well done and soaked up the curry well.

Came in about 30 mins before close and the staff was reluctant to seat me. Thankfully, I was seated and told to order quickly as the kitchen was closing. Since I didn’t really have time I asked the waiter what he recommended as an app and noodle dish. The app that was suggested I didn’t really care for. The noodle dish was good but not something I would have ordered if had time to select.

We were seated immediately and the food arrived less than ten minutes after we ordered. A huge menu with lots of different flavours to explore and each bowl was delicious. Another place I'd happily eat at again.

The food we had was absolutely delicious, and the portion sizes were good too. Our table neighbours had a couple of plates stack in front of them so we thought we better order a lot, because they had so many plates. That was a mistake, we didn't come close to finishing it. But it also meant we had some for later, which was nice. They only take cash!

1990 don't do table reservations and we did have to queue for a little bit as it was so busy, but I'm glad we did as the dining experience was a lot of fun. It's tapas style Vietnamese cuisine and you get to choose from a range of small and large dishes with rice, noodles and udon noodles also offered separately. They gave us a piece of paper with a list of all the menu items and then you mark which ones you want and how many of each dish. It's not something I've come across before, and it was a bit of fun! I think it also helps save time taking people’s orders, and that's especially useful in such a busy restaurant as this.
Read moreWe went for six small dishes, two rice bowls and an udon bowl to share between me and my wife. We also got a cocktail each. We found it hard to judge how much food we should order and honestly we should have just asked the waiter for guidance because we ordered way too much! I reckon 4 small dishes with one rice and one udon would have been good for us.
The food came extremely fast and looked amazing! It was fun being able to try so many different dishes, even if we didn't manage to finish them all! My favourites were the Princess and the Pea and the Cary. Although I enjoyed the food the reason I have given this place a 4 and not a 5 is that I did feel it was lacking flavour. It was enjoyable but just not flavoursome enough for me. I also got the Saigon Colada cocktail and that was decent but I would've preferred it a bit sweeter.
Our bill came to €54 but we did order too many dishes and I reckon if we'd ordered the right amount it would've come to around €40 for a filling meal for both of us and a cocktail each, which is pretty great value I think.

Es gibt eine Karte mit einer großen Auswahl an unterschiedlichen Gerichten. Es ist möglich große Gerichte zu bestellen oder mehrere kleine. Alles kann auch für den Tisch bestellt und geteilt werden, was ein schönes Konzept ist, um viel zu probieren. Das Essen ist sehr lecker, die Beschäftigten sind super freundlich.

Vorab, ich gebe zwei Sterne A, weil es nicht möglich einen zu geben und B, weil das Restaurant sauber war und ich mich nicht geekelt habe.

Das Essen: Kaum bis gar nicht gewürzt und gesalzen. Die Udon Bowl wurde lediglich mit einer Gemüsebrühe serviert. Zusätzlich haben wir ein Plastikstück von der Udonnudelverpackung im Essen gefunden. Bei den Dumplings wurde mit Sojasoße gegeizt.
Die Getränke: Wir hatten einen Ingwer-Zitronen Tee, der ungesüßt bestellt wurde. Dieser wurde jedoch gesüßt serviert, obwohl der Keller diesen als ungesüßt deklariert hat.
Der Service war quasi nicht vorhanden. Zeitnahes bezahlen war nicht möglich. Zusätzlich war es extrem zugig…
Daher ist es mir ein Rätsel wie dieses Restaurant so gute Bewertungen bekommen konnte….
