Amazing dinner

They have a whole page of vegan options on their menu! My husband enjoyed his chickpea stew and I loved the vegetarian platter. The server was great and explained how to use the teff bread to scoop up your food and eat with your hands😄

Pros: Great food, Prompt, kind service, Lots of vegan options!

Grateful to have a good local Ethiopian restaurant nearby

Vibrant and lively small restaurant with many regular patrons. Delicious vegan menu makes up 50% of the offerings. Order to platter so you can try many dishes simultaneously. Not inexpensive.

Pros: Absolutely delicious & freshly made vegan platter , Hopping vibrant energy restaurant, Family run.

Cons: Would love to see the tempeh on the vegan platter , This place is packed and often there's a wait, Would be nice to have 2nds like @ other Eth Cafes

You don’t even have to decide…

There are maybe 8 vegan dishes on the menu, and 6 of them are included on the vegetarian (vegan) platter. Since decisions are no fun, this was the way to go. Partner got the tempeh tibs and we shared both. Everything was wonderful, and we will definitely be back!

Pros: Lots of options, Friendly people, Reasonably priced

Amazing. Actually healthy vegan

The veggie platter is so good. So good in fact that I now get three entrees when I go instead of the sampler.

The teff bread is amazing, and not oily.

The collards are the best I’ve ever had
The beets…I’ve never had such good beets
And the best of all is the lentil dish. The yellow one. Get it. Trust me.

Overall it’s high quality food, very vegan friendly, low in oil, served quickly. It’s fun and creative.

Just go

Love having Ethiopian in town

I have loved Ethiopian food since I was a kid in Texas and went to all the spots there, later in DC, Chicago, NY, the Bay Area etc. this is so nice having this in town. Some of the dishes in the veggie combo are sparse and I always have to order more bread. Wish they had the traditional tables, hand cloths after meal, a drink menu and a better ambience but it is still so lovely to have this here and veggie combo is vegan.

Pros: Veggie combo is the best food ever , Nice people , Yum

Cons: The usual dishes in the veggie combo are tiny , Not the best Ethiopian I’ve had , Ambience needs a glow up

The veggie combo is all vegan and all I’ve ever ordered at an Ethiopian restaurant anyway. It’s my favorite food so I’m happy to see an Ethiopian restaurant in my town and to see it finally added to happy cow. Ethiopian restaurants always have vegan food, and if you haven’t had it yet it’s time to start!

Pros: Veggie combo is delicious, Cute little spot right in town by parking garage , Very kind owners and cooks

Cons: They do serve meat but most places in NC do, They don’t have wine or beer but NBD, That’s it, delicious af! No complaints.

Ethiopian in Asheville!

The vegan sampler platter for two was just perfect, every item was tasty and nicely seasoned without being too salty. The salad was very fresh, crisp and well dressed.

Pros: The vegan platter, Well-seasoned flavors, Very polite staff

Cons: Off the main drag, enter from back street

Excellent vegan food

We ordered the vegan platter for two at lunch today. It was huge, more than we could both eat. The spice level was really good. I have an ulcer and cannot tolerate spicy foods and there was only one of the platter items which was too spicy for me. The spiced iced tea is delicious and the injera is made with 100% teff flour, so it is naturally gluten free. The owner is a sweetheart and will adapt items for spiceiness. Prices are very good. Restrooms were nice and clean. Go, you will be glad you did.

Pros: Lots of vegan choices, Food is delicious, Staff is very friendly and accommodating

Wonderful plethora of vegan options

The veggie platter contained samples of six different vegan dishes, eaten upon in jeera bread and they were all delectable and perfectly crafted. Reasonable prices and friendly staff.
