We love Ain Soph - Edit
Such a reliable chain of restaurants. This visit we had the taco rice, a burrito, a crème brûlée and the strawberry pancakes. We left stuffed full and very happy.

Heavenly desserts - Edit
I opted for two desserts, because they looked so good. And they were. The Dessert Plate had a scoop of ice cream, a waffle, whipped cream underneath fruit in a glass, and gluten free chocolate cake. These were full of flavour and mouthwatering. Then came the special strawberry pancakes. I don't have words to describe how delicious this was.

They have seating upstairs too. Friendly, English speaking staff, and a relaxed atmosphere.

Friendly and hip - Edit
Went there for lunch, the heavenly pancake set was very good.
Read moreThe soup that day was corn and onion, not their tomato speciality like the menu advertised. We were disappointed when it was served, but the first sip changed our mind!
The salad parfait was intriguing: you eat the top part first while dipping the cooked root veggies in fresh japanese miso, really yummy. Then you empty the remaining content in a plate and add the dressing.
The pancake plate was brought while we were still working on the salad, which is fine as we’ve noticed that we eat a lot slower than locals. The pancakes were very tasty. The soy ice cream had all but melted, made for a good dipping sauce!
The set includes a drink, we picked herbal tea. They don’t let you choose one, they bring you a cup already prepared. It smelled like linden-mint, I think ^_^
As the lunch hour went by, the place became very loud with people talking.
Pros: all-vegan menu, fresh ingredients
Cons: loud place

Perfect Location for a Shinjuku Outing - Edit
After really adoring the Ikebukuro location, I decided to try the Shinjuku location. It's only a few minutes walking from Marui & Marui Annex and is right next to the Shinjuku-sanchome station entrance, which is quite ideal if you are lucky enough to get caught in a wet snowstorm like I was today. The food was great, but honestly I would absolutely return here for the convenient location alone.

Tasty food - Edit
Really good food, some dishes tasted exactly like the Kyoto branch. The only thing they could improve on is the state of the downstairs seating, the ceiling definitely needs painting, looks very dirty.

So Good We Went Twice - Edit
Came first thing after landing. Delicious salad plate. The food and atmosphere was so good that we came back towards the end of our stay in Tokyo. Had delicious vegan pesto salad set and karage. Kyoto branch was even better.

Place for Special occasion - Edit
Pricey vegan fine dining restaurant. The menu is diverse and fancy, they make it pretty decent too. Liked the karage and pasta, and also a special celebration platter at the end.

The Karaage is Amazing - Edit
The karaage is really juicy and quite delicious. I had that and the kinoko hayashi rice for lunch, as well as a black sesame latte, which I also enjoyed. I'm still not acclimated to Japanese portion sizes but this amount of food gave me the perfect level of fullness. I unfortunately wasn't the biggest fan of the hayashi rice, although it wasn't bad, it just wasn't anything to write home about. The service staff was very kind and indulged me with my beginner/intermediate Japanese the whole time even though they spoke perfect English, which I appreciated.

Overpriced and overrated - Edit
We were looking forward to eating in this place after seeing generally good reviews, but we were really disappointed in the food we ordered which was very bland and had an unpleasant taste to it. My boyfriend couldnt finish his meal which is very rare, if you end up going here dont order what we got. The walls was covered in black fungus which was kind of disgusting. And on top of this the prices were really high compared to anything else we have eaten in Tokyo. Smoothie was good though, but i wouldnt recommend this place, as there are better alternatives nearby.

Other locations are better - Edit
They don't do the iconic pancakes at this location. Lavk of decor was noticeable. They have great black sesame pancakes were great. Everything else was painfully average.

Nice enough but overrated - Edit
They weren't serving the classic pancakes and it seemed like they haven't for a while which was disappointing as it was why I booked. My husband got a faux beef wrap and I got the same in a salad. Both were tasty enough but served cold and the wrap was cling wrapped - felt like something to grab from a bakery rather than a dinner. We split 2 desserts which looked good but weren't very sweet. I wouldn't visit again as I've had much better tasting and value vegan food in Japan, including at non vegan restaurants.

Funky loft style cafe - Edit
Mushrooms were our highlight but beware they are very hot and in oil! Our server did warn us about this which was lucky. Taco salad was very healthy and light. Cutlet that we added on was nice but small. Quiche was a bit funny texturally for me but the ham flavour was there. Food was nice but a little over priced compared to the other wonderful things we have found around Tokyo.

Fine Dining - Edit
We booked here for fancy dining so it is no doubt expensive. The hayashi rice’s stew can be a tad salty if you don’t eat it with the rice. The green curry was aromatic. Kara-age was decent and the tiramisu was the highlight of my dining experience! The coconut berry smoothie was delicious!! You are also able to tip here.

We only had mains and those were quite bland so we found the restaurant overrated and overpriced . Which is a shame because it was so good to find a vegan restaurant in Beijing

Not just for pancakes! - Edit
The pancakes were out of this world, definitely the best vegan pancakes that entered my esophagus. I ordered the sessional black sesame pancakes fyi. My partner and I also got the two curry options which were so deep and flavorful. The vegan karage was absolutely delicious. They were both moist and flavorful. We took the vegan quiche to go and it was fantastic cold. Oh and their smoothie was so yummy!!!

Great vegan option - Edit
I enjoyed my lunch here- had the mushroom curry with a fake cutlet on the side. The salad dressing was especially fresh and tasty. I also enjoyed an iced mint tea as the day was sweltering.

Excellent food and service - Edit
A strong 4.5, but I reserve my 5s for those very special places!
Read moreFood was just excellent, many things were sold out (didn't get to try the pancakes). It is a bit pricey, but worth it in my opinion. The vegan creme brulee was overly burnt in my opinion and just kind of a cold mess underneath, only disappointing thing I got there in my two visits. Super highly recommend the tiramisu!
Building was a bit weird, walls seemed dirty/moldy a bit, but not distracting unless you are a detailed oriented contractor like me, probably.
Pros: Food, Service
Cons: Atmosphere a little lacking (just paint those wall, Creme brulee
