Nice and cozy restaurant - Edit
We went there yesterday for lunch and were very happy to discover this place. Friendly staff speaking English, excellent food, reasonable price and very nice atmosphere inside.

Nice lunch option and work space! - Edit
I was surprised to find this place quite busy! There was a small wait, but I was seated and served quickly. The sandwich I got was quite nice with a wide variety of flavors that worked well together. There was a nice sweet crunchy vegetable I couldn’t place. I got a muffin to go which was also nice. I liked the vibe and could see myself coming to get some work done here for an afternoon if I’m in the area.

100% vegan - Edit
It’s a cute little vegan restaurant/bakery. It had about 4 different dishes (curry, soup, rice and one more I forgot😅) along with different sandwiches and many sweet and drink options. Only thing is that the main menu with the 4 dishes were all in Japanese.

Questionable visit - Edit
the staff made me wait 20 minutes outside under the hot Tokyo sun outside for 30 mins didn't even give me water or anything. at first I didn't understand why they told me to wait outside for my order but I guess its a COVID measure, still, its hot ad they weren't exactly nice about it.
Read moreI'm sure the staff are nice people but quite disappointed. I waited 30 minutes for a sandwich and an ice cream, and I was busy that day so I had to leave without getting my sandwich and ice cream on time (quite pricey at that). and no apology or anything from the staff. Was looking forward to the breads (tasted great) and everything but honestly service is quite important. Cute cafe with great bread, quite pricey.

Good food, relaxed atmosphere - Edit
A local Japanese friend of mine recommended this place for lunch. We both had tomato and coconut curry, full of veggies and soy, with a side of green salad and brown rice - we were both very satisfied.
Read moreI've also got some help with translating the menu as it wasn't in English - however some members of the staff speak both English and Japanese fluently, in case it's needed.
The restaurant is a little out of the way - which I actually prefer. A quick bus ride (route 41) from Shibuya station got me a short 3-minute walk away from the place.
On another occasion, I also had the pleasure of trying their blueberry muffin, banana bread, carrot cake and granola - all were very, very good (with the muffin being my favorite!)

Cute and warm place with good food - Edit
I only visited once, but it made me want to go again. The sandwiches we got were nice, but a bit too small. I look forward to trying out the rest of the menu!

Delicious spot south of Shibuya - Edit
Alaska provides excellent vegan fare, with friendly staff and a nice a location.
Read moreMy friends and I walked here from the Shibuya area, about a 20 min walk (and not exactly on a main drag for most of it, but don’t get discouraged if you do the same!) As you get close, you’ll start seeing some signs of life on the street again, with Alaska tucked away right behind a more main strip.
When we got there on a Sunday night, there was a decent amount of room and we were sat right away. The server explained our options really thoroughly, which include a few different sets (brown rice, bread, and one other I can’t remember), which include soups and varying options depending on what you choose. There were also plenty of a la carte items that could be ordered.
I ended up choosing the brown rice set, which came with the rice (obviously), traditional salad, more of a small seaweed salad, and a soy meat karage dish. One of my friends also got this, and we were both really impressed by the flavors and quality in general. As a group, we also shared sweet potato fries (with a maple sauce—these went very fast), and the other two in our party got more bowl style dishes that they also raved about. On our way out, I grabbed a berry muffin that was really excellent—fresh and light.
The total for our meal was surprisingly reasonable, so would very much recommend as a great inexpensive vegan spot. Also, note too that it was open until 9pm on a Sunday, which was not the case for many of the vegan places we were exploring (a lot of which closed at 7pm or 8pm).
Pros: Great sets, Reasonably priced

chill cafe near ikejiri-ohashi station - Edit
alaska zwei has a very welcoming, warm atmosphere. perfect for dinner on a rainy day like today. their menu is comprised of three different sets with components that change daily— a curry/brown rice set, a deli/brown rice set, and a soup/salad/bread set— as well as some bagel sandwiches and one off plates like vegan gapao rice, focaccia pizza, and tofu katsu.
Read moretonight i had the pleasure of enjoying an organic lemon soda with their bread set, which included a bowl of squash potage, a mixed greens salad with apple (and some kind of stone fruit?), walnuts, and toasted almonds, two triangles of herb focaccia, a crescent roll, and melgarejo olive oil. super nourishing fare, not to mention filling. the potage and crescent roll could've probably used a bit more salt, as could the blueberry muffin i took home with me for dessert.
that being said, i'd still happily return and recommend this place to others. prices were quite good too!

My first time being able to try a melon pan in Japan!! So utterly delicious, as was the blueberry muffin. So nice being able to participate in the strong bakery culture of Tokyo. Will definitely be going back!

Great local vegan food in Naka meguro - Edit
Located just blocks away from my capsule hotel, I head over to the establishment for dinner and once there I was greeted to a very friendly staff and noticed all of the staff front and back of the house were female. It's very rare and I give it a big thumbs up. I ordered the Banh mi for 650 yen and I immediately wanted seconds. Would definitely recommend!
