everything looks so good and they do have a great range of vegan products.
Read moretried a funghi worstenbroodje (puff pastry with a "sausage" made from seitan and mushrooms) and it was okay, the taste was a bit bland. but the other things look so nice that i still give 4 stars

The shop has been completely renovated. Entrance is ramp - accessible!

It had been so many years since I had eaten koffiekoeken (Danish pastry). So very excited! and they didn't disappoint!
Have been to the bakery in Ghent to buy them, and also bought them from Bakkerij Frimout at vegan Summerfest (long queue, everyone wanted some!).
Tip: if you want to be sure to be able to have some, reserve them, as they sometimes sell out rapidly.
Would be nice if he also started making vegan pies and cakes!

Hier moet men zijn voor lekkere vegan koffiekoeken, gebak, worstenbroodjes en belegde broodjes.

Berlijnse boules, taartjes en gebakjes, suikerbrood en nog veel meer.
Met grote voorsprong de beste bakkerij in Gent voor wie vegan is.
Gesloten in het weekend maar een aantal van de koffiekoeken zijn ongebakken in diepvries verkrijgbaar om thuis af te bakken.
Bakkerij Frimout is ook te vinden op het jaarlijkse Vegan Summer Fest in Gent.

This bakery has a lot of vegan choice. I have tried several types of pastry, danish and cake the past years, and all are wonderful and in taste so similar to the non vegan ones. The vegan tompouce is to die for!

21-08-22: Got two pastries at Vegan Summer Fest. Cinnamon bun was tasty and we wanted to get a small chocolate pastry/pain au chocolate but through an communication error got an actual load of bread with chocolate. We were not mad at all as this was just as good, maybe even better!
Read more20-08-23: Went to their stand again at VSF23 and got another chocolate bread as it was delicious last time. Also tried a lemon meringue tart. Really nice thin crust and tasty filling.

This is a traditional bakery with a good choice of vegan options, even during the week.
Read moreIf there is something specific you want in decent quantity, then it's best to reserve in advance.
The taste of the 'koffiekoeken' is great, I had the same feeling, as I used to have, when I ate the non-vegan 'koffiekoeken'.
These products are really a good transition for more cruelty free products and showing that there is nothing you have to give up on when you go vegan.
I've a dream that one day, their proposal will be the standard in the Belgium bakeries.
A must try, mainly to experience what they can make as vegan alternatives.

De koffiekoeken en croissants zijn erg lekker. Er zijn ook donuts, typische taartjes 'van bij de bakker', chocolade en... Heel wat vegan belegde broodjes. De vegan koeken staan duidelijk gelabeld als 'we are vegan'.
