Great Spanish tapas bar - Edit
This is a great little tapas bar in the gothic quarters. Everything was delicious! The bravas was a unique take. The vegan chicken paella was great and allowed us to try paella. The drinks were good, they even had virgin ones for my pregnant wife. We top it off with the apple tart.

2023 REVIEW: The bravas were good, but not spicy. Need to come back to ask for more diahes. The vermout was not homemade.

Molt deliciós! - Edit
All vegan Spanish food at last! A wide selection of tapas, three different paellas, an extensive and delicious sangria, and some great dessert make this an easy choice if you’re looking for something wonderful in the Born neighborhood. I had a paella Valencia and some croquettes and was delighted with my meal!

This is my favorite vegan place in Barcelona so far. Price is pretty high, but food is excellent and so is the service and the location of the restaurant. The variety of sangrias is outstanding.

Vegan Tapas - Edit
A great range of sangria, and an option of tapas or larger dishes like Paella. I chose two tapas dishes - ch*cken paella stuffed peppers in bechamel sauce and some mushroom croquettes. Both were great and the staff were friendly, overall a great vibe

Good brunch place - Edit
I was here two times for brunch. On my first time I got the veganancia paella and a lemonade. Both were great, but be aware that the lemonades are very sweet.
Read moreOn my second time I went for the red lips pancake and another lemonade. Again everything was delicious.
During busy hours it can take some time to order and get your food, but I still found it reasonable.

Best vegan paella in Barcelona - Edit
The food at Bubita has been excellent all round but the star of the show has to be the chick'n paella. The Huera chicken is seasoned well and cooked to perfection so that it is moist and succulent and not dry as so many chicken alternatives can be. The flavour is just wonderful - it's so good I came back again for the same dish!

Creative - Edit
It was very hard to pick something from their menu because everything looked good. We ended up ordering a few too many tapas than necessary, but it didn’t break the bank, and it was well worth it. All the tapas were very creative and pleasingly presented. The highlight was the hollandaise sauce on the stuffed peppers - still not sure what was in that, but it was bomb. The wait staff was also very friendly and attentive. Would recommend!

Thank you for your wonderful review! We're so glad you enjoyed our creative tapas and found the prices to be great. It's fantastic to hear that the hollandaise sauce on the stuffed peppers was a highlight for you—that's one of our favorites! It’s a very complex sauce actually, but we can tell you that it’s a search for the perfect balance of flavors like tahini, nutritional yeast and turmeric, among other ingredients 😉

Low level compared to the standards of vegan food in Barcelona - Edit
The hype for this venue is unclear to me--everything very flat in terms of flavor, overly greasy potato tapas and none that we were particularly enamored with. After the tapas we also tried to order a paella but the result was even more disappointing given the great reviews. The chicken was sour (disgusting) the paella was not technically done well. Overcooked rice and the “socarrat” completely absent. The love I have usually always found in vegan restaurants for food and experimentation here seemed completely gone.

It's a tourist trap. If you see the high rating reviews are mostly from tourists who have little to no knowledge of Spanish food.
Read moreWe locals do not go there :/
BubitaBar
This user (AlexGallows) often comments on posts of our customers accusing us for being a tourist trap, he also define Velada (another vegan premise of the city center) with the same adjective. It’s not convenient for Happy Cow to allow such behavior; given the fact that we work hard to promote vegan food and respect for living beings, this person doesn’t show any self-respect in insulting other humans’ work and pretend that “we locals don’t go there”: with what authority this person speaks for a large community of people that he doesn’t even know? Shall we consider his behavior harassment, as it goes on and on in his crusade against premises that he doesn’t like?

The paella and drinks are really delicious. Unfortunately are the portions a bit to small and a bit too pricey such that you average around 25€ per person and don’t even be full. But the overall atmosphere is nice.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and giving us a chance to shine on Happy Cow—it’s great to hear that you enjoyed at #Bubita Barcelona! We craft every dish with vibrant, colorful flair to reflect our founder’s vegetarian vision. We hear you on the portion sizes and pricing; our focus is on premium ingredients and bold Mediterranean-inspired recipes, like our signature sangria flights blending local wines with fresh fruits (non-alcoholic options too!), which can make costs reflect that quality, but we’re always tweaking to ensure every bite feels just right. 🌿🍹
