Has reopened

Great tasting food!

Reopened Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10-2 for brunch (veggie and vegan)

Lovely people - it’s a community collective.

Portions a little small, but that was my only gripe.

I had the Caribbean breakfast

They were a bit woolly about how you would become a member (which would have sent my bill down from quite high to really great value) but did allude to the fact that it might be about living locally (but they might consider very local workers). Still waiting to hear from them on that front a week later.

Pros: Community focussed: lovely people, Nice food, Well presented

Cons: Portions a bit small, Much better value if you can become a member

Special find

With chefs and menus changing daily there's a huge variety of dishes - always a nice surprise. Not just a cafe but also a community hub doing a lot of great stuff. Our towns and cities need more Bonningtons

Pros: Great food, Great price , Great vision

Cons: Not always 100% vegan

Love this place

I've been here so many times now, the food is so nice. They have rotating chefs so you always get something new. The food here tends to be easy comfort food but it's always delicious. I love the venue but it can get quite loud! It's situated in a beautifully leady suburb near vauxhall. Would recommend booking. Generally very reasonably priced. They tend to have two options for starters, mains, and deserts each time so I'd recommend if you go with someone to have one of everything and share!

Pros: Rotating chefs so always something new, Pretty cheap, Great food

Cons: Bit loud

Always vegetarian, mostly vegan

The cafe serves up great food every day. The menu changes depending on the chef. Set prices, meaning you can get a 3 course dinner for under £20. The menu is AlWAYS vegetarian and about 99% of the time vegan. BYOB/D (water will be provided, occasionally drinks may be on the menu).

Love this place

I go here all the time and food is always great. It's a community owned cafe and they have a few different chefs on rotation. Check out their facebook page where they post the daily menu. BYOB as well.

Pros: Healthy food, Community owned, Very cheap

Cons: Small venue

A wonderful, small cafe with lots of vegan options

This place is lovely.
I enjoyed my meal and supporting their business.

One of the waiters mentioned that it's best to check if they have any vegan options on the day, as although it doesn't happen very often; sometimes, there aren't any on the menu or they run out!

On a brighter and more definite note; Thursday is vegan day, so if you want more vegan options, that would be a great day to go!

A community experience

I went for a casual dinner to this café, which is a co-operatively run vegetarian and vegan restaurant with a bohemian atmosphere. I loved that it felt like if you were in somebody else's living room. The dimmed light and mismatched furniture makes it feel very relaxed and cosy. And the service felt very personal and genuine.

They have a guest chef each night and you have to book a table by texting the chef! Definitely not a drop-in place to go, so make sure you make your reservation.

The menu is on a blackboard, which I support 100%, reducing waste. They had a choice of one starter, two mains and two desserts. I can only speak for the day I went, which coincidentally was all vegan. I had some sort of sweet potato curry with rice and a salad, which was OK. I did like my friend's choice, which was the vegan Wellington with garnish and a generous amount of tasty gravy. Both desserts were equally nice: the vegan banoffee pie and the mixed fruit crumble.

The price was very pocket-friendly, so that is a massive plus.

I couldn't say I was completely blown away by the food, but I loved the ambience and the idea of having different chefs every time, so I'm curious and I would go back (after the second lockdown).

Pros: Cosy, A different chef every night

Why can't there be more cafes like this?

Had the Thai Green Curry on Sunday lunch time cooked by Maria. Was really nice. Love the idea behind cafe with different people cooking. Can pop over road to deli for alcohol or BYO. Best to book. Food was all vegan.

Pros: Such good value, Co-op, Inclusive

Delicious Baked Polenta

I was there on a Friday and they had a recipe of Baked Polenta with veggies and roasted potatoes. It was truly incredible.

The place is very comfy and it makes you feel like you are in a friend's house.

Pros: Very Healthy and gourmet-like

Cons: Only cash payments

Nice atmosphere, good food

This was close to my hotel in Westminster, so I visted while on a work trip.
Luckily, it was vegan night when I arrived, so the menu was easy to choose from.
It was very busy, and I hadn't booked a table, but they managed to squeeze me in.
Unfortunately, I had to eat quickly before the booked customer arrived.
The food was delicious though - plenty of choice as well.
The atmosphere was really relaxed in here, everyone seemed very happy.
Would love to go back and eat at a more relaxed pace next time!

Pros: Delicious food, Good choice, Great atmosphere

Cosy venue, delicious vegan food

We went on a night when Gigi was cooking and had a great vegan meal for a modest (by London standards) price. Between us my other half and I tried everything on offer: starters were pea soup and courgette fritters, mains were lentil shepherd's pie and a Senegalese peanutty dish, and dessert was a pina colada cake. Everything was fresh and delicious. It's normally advisable to book although on a wintry Sunday night it wasn't too crowded.

Pros: Cosy, characterful venue, Delicious food, All vegan the night we went

Super cozy

Twice a week, the whole menu is vegan and it was delicious! We had a beetroot curry with rice and naan and apfelstrudel for dessert. All of it was very good. The only thing is that the portions are not really big, so if you are really hungry, definitely get one of those big ass soups for a starter!

Book ahead! Cosy, homely atmosphere

What a charming place! One of my favourites, as it feels like sitting in someone's living room having an exceptional meal. It's reasonably priced and they always have vegan options. A great place for a cosy date night or catch up with a friend - Book ahead though! I once got turned away as it was fully booked!

sweet little community run place

I kind of like this place - it's very non corporate and stems from an old squatting community. Each day it has a different chef and they always have a vegan option, but often everything is vegan. Tuesdays are vegan only days. The food is very 'vegan' - ie, pulses, dahls, rice etc but it's always delicious and it is super cheap as for the area. Service varies from super quick to super chaotic, but I think that's all part of the charm. If you like community cafes then this is just the place.

Vegan night on Thursday

Casual cooperative - furnishings are 'rustic' and service swift but friendly. We visited on a Thursday night when the menu is all vegan. The strudel was tasty and the chocolate cake nice and rich. There is a different chef each night so the menu changes daily (2 choices of starter, main and dessert).

Remember that you need to book in advance and it is cash only.

Pros: Cooperative, Vegan Thursday
