All vegan and a variety of products

The Boulangerie L'oiaeau Bleu had a food stall on the vegan gourmet fest in kyoto 2024. I had a fuwafuwakun, that was really really good and fluffy. I missed going to their shop, so I was happy to go to Vegefest 2024 and visit their food stall. :)

Magnificent Healthy Breads

Recommended to me by Dr. Harue Suzuki, owner of choice. Tried most of the breads. Will definitely be back for more

Pros: Variety, texture and flavor of the breads, Use of ancient grains and natural fermentation

Cons: A long trip from central Kyoto, but worth it

Vegan and gluten-free bakery!

Really cute vegan and gluten free bakery near Kamigamo Jinja! The bread has a really fluffy texture and tastes like normal non-gluten free bread.

Delicious bread!

I bought three different buns from here: raspberry and two different kinds of anpan which all were super yummy. The texture was fantastic, really impressed as it’s gluten free. They also sell cookies and vegan cheese!

Pros: All vegan, Gluten free

Cons: Location is a bit far from the centre

Pioneer in gluten free and vegan breads in Kyoto

This is heaven for people who are celiacs or want to have more gluten free options The owner has definitely perfected the art of making gluten free bread. I do not avoid gluten but her breads are easily the best gluten free breads I've eaten in Kyoto. She is also very friendly and accommodating, giving me a free banana muffin after we had a nice chat about spreading veganism and healthy eating in Kyoto. They used to be a normal bakery until the owner learned more about gluten free and vegan cooking from Choice Cafe, after which she had the epiphany to completely switch to a vegan and gluten free bakery a year ago. I was very impressed and inspired by her dedication in providing healthy and delicious products for her customers. Highly recommend even if you aren't allergic to wheat. This is a fantastic and lovely place that deserves more recognition.

Pros: Absolutely fantastic vegan and gluten free bread, Friendly and passionate staff, Allergen friendly

Cons: Slightly pricey but worth it for the quality, A little out of the way
