Quality artisan chocolate - Edit
Cacao Magic offers an impressive variety of artisan dark chocolates made with organic cacao, including some with other ingredients (e.g. maca, cinnamon, and even CBD oil).
Read moreThe prices are about as high as I've ever seen for artisan chocolate (including in Switzerland), so people looking for cheap candy should move along, but if you're a fan of quality cacao creations, then Cacao Magic is a great spot for a splurge.
There's also a small café corner here, serving drinks and a few other things, but it wasn't open during my late-afternoon visit, so I simply chose some chocolates from the display case.
The owner is friendly and speaks very good English, and is happy to explain the options.
Enjoy!

expensive but high quality - Edit
This is not your ordinary chocolate shop, everything is intricately detailed. Keep in mind, organic chocolate doesn’t come cheap and is quite the luxury product. This is a great place to have coffee and relax for an afternoon.

overpriced and empty - Edit
There was little products when I went on a Sunday. I felt obligated to buy something when walking in to the tiny store. One square of chocolate for 400 yen.

Visited Apr 15. This is a small store/cafe near Ginkakuji and the Philosopher's Path. A lovely setting and a pretty garden outside. I think the cafe is open only during high tourist seasons. Delicious sweets and cheesecake. Very expensive!!
