Good Plant based options - Edit
We ordered the lentil soup. Had to double check that it's plant based and was told it is made with coconut milk
Read moreAlso ordered Roasted Eggplant with tahini which was a good portion but I wish they would have cleaned it from the seeds as it felt like i was only eating seeds rather than actual eggplant.
They should have used small/ seedless eggplant for this dish
They also offer many freshly made juices and I ordered the ginger carrot. That was good
Many other side dishes like falafel fries and hummus
I asked for the plant based Shawerma and was told, it is been discounted #sad
Wish they had a separate Plant based section on the menu for better navigation
Overall a great experience. Will definitely come back to try the falafel burger
Pros: Many plant based options on the menu
Cons: Eggplant should be seedless , No plant based section. You need to ask, The staff was nice but rushed us into everything

Recommend the Hummus dishes - Edit
Recommend trying the hummus with soy strips and upgrade the bred to focaccia bread for a filling meal. This place was open New Year’s Day when most places were closed in downtown Toronto.

Best Hummus - Edit
Delicious food with plenty of vegan options. We ordered the plant based shakshuka and hummus tahini. They were both delicious and it was some of the best hummus I’ve ever had. The service was friendly and the ambiance is nice.

The sandwich was very delicious, the side salad not so much, but you could get for like a $1 more fries, etc.

Great vegan options and coffee - Edit
I was really surprised at how good the vegan options were at Landwer’s! This was a 2 min walk from the Hilton where we stayed so we ate here twice. We had soy and oat lattes that were really good. I recommend getting a small double shot latte for the most Australian type coffee (aka best coffee in the world). The first morning I had a plant-based shakshuka that came with beyond meat meatballs, I triple checked with the waitress that it was vegan and it was, just make sure you ask about the breads as the challah has egg in it.
Read moreThe second day I had the açai bowl which is not on the QR code menu, but on the online menu. It was really good and filling. Would totally go back here for a safe vegan breakfast and amazing coffee.
Also service was excellent!
Pros: Quite a few vegan options, Great coffee , Great service
Cons: Could be more vegan options , Wish they had vegan pastries

a toronto staple - Edit
they have an abundance of vegan options and make them clearly marked on the menu. i ordered the plant based shawarma, but on the receipt it said shakshuka. i’m not sure which one i got but omg it was so good! even the side salad had a strong taste that sets it apart from other places. the wait staff was also very attentive as i received a bread that had egg in it after i told them i was vegan. they offered to take it back and they gave me a multigrain roll instead. i would definitely come back for more food vegan eats!

Love this place because they are one of the few places in Toronto open early for breakfast and have great vegan options. Gotta try the farmer’s breakfast.

I literally opened up my Happy Cow app right in front of this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised to find this place listed at the top, so glad!! We walked right in and the service right to the food was top notch! Highly recommend.

Very Tasty - Edit
The menu has clearly labelled vegan options, all of which look great. I’ve gone for both breakfast and lunch and have never been disappointed. Expect to spend around $20 for a meal (not including drink, only an entrée).

Good vegan breakfast options - Edit
They offer different vegan breakfast options like a vegan plate (with vegan omlette, bread, a lot of spreads, a little coconut joghurt and bread), vegan coconut joghurt with fruit and granola or bowls. We really enjoyed the vegan plate and the coconut joghurt! Could be more bread because they serve a lot of spreads. Coffee is available with plant-based milk. Can also recommend the smoothies! Vegan options are clearly labeled.

I've had Cafe Landwer many times and it never disappoints. There are delicious, healthy and innovative vegan options on the menu that are consistently excellent. It is a great place to go with people who are not vegetarian.

Amazing! - Edit
Highly recommend! During the cold dark Toronto winter, this gem stands out when walking by with full length glass walls, warm lighting, and a welcoming atmosphere. Staff was above and beyond making sure all our needs were taken care of. Great variety of labeled vegan options. Had the breakfast plate and mango sorbet and both exceeded expectations. Serves meat options for the hubby which he also thoroughly enjoyed. Will be going back!
