Amazing place

This is an amazing, special place. All the vegan options we’ve had were super yummy, we especially enjoyed the tico burritos, house salad, iced matcha latte, espresso and banana bread that they toast for you. So freaking yummy! Incredible food. Service is amazing, staff is super friendly, the place is beautiful, the riverside view is breathtaking. Aaand, prices are high.

Pros: Delicious food, Cool staff, Beautiful environment

Cons: High prices

Basic

There are veg options for sure, can't say I was very satisfied with mine. Ordered the mole chili tempe, in large part because it supposedly includes tempeh. It arrives, a small bowl for 2800 colones, and I cannot discern a single grain or piece of tempeh in it, nor can I say it's flavour at all resembles its description: tasted like a plain chili with lots of cumin as you might have at a food not bombs gathering. Left pretty dissatisfied.

Pros: Pleasant access to the river

Cons: Pricey for what you get, Misleading descriptions , Unapologetically weak wifi

Hip little cafe

Their menu makes it easy to see what dishes are vegan (or can be made vegan), and the food is generally pretty good. My favorite dish was the vegan chocolate pie, my least favorite was the asian noodle salad (the rice noodles were kinda stiff?), and the juices were consistently delicious. The vegan banana bread was good too, although I wished it came with some vegan butter... Casual, friendly environment, with a clean bathroom.

Pros: Friendly service, Vegan and vegetarian options clearly labeled, Vegan desserts

Cons: Some items could be improved in flavor and texture, Not open for dinner

Great morning stop!

Mono Congo’s breakfast burritos were killer! One already pretty close to vegan and another vegetarian. In our group of four we each got o e and easily saved the other half for later in the day. Their cold brew coffee was perfect for a hot day stroll!

wonderful option for vegans

The owners are Canadian and super sweet. They also own Phat Noodle. There are plenty of vegan options but also options for non-vegans.

the best food in Dominical!

So many options. I am vegan and have a gluten allergy. My husband and I ate here almost every day during our stay in Dominical. Perfect setting next to the river as well. Can't wait to go back to Dominical and to Mono Congo!

Some Vegan Options

They have a couple of vegan items on their menu and a few vegetarian ones you make vegan with tofu or by omitting the cheese. They offer soy and almond milk. Coffee was good. Had a pretty good black bean burrito and took away a quinoa dish. My favourite was the vegan papaya chocolate pie. Staff was friendly.

Pros: some vegan options, close to the beach, friendly service

Cons: few vegan options
