Fantastic Puerto Rican food inside of the Saluhall in IKEA - Edit
Phenomenal vegan chickn skewers. Everything else was great as well.
Read moreNote: it’s inside the IKEA food hall on the second floor. Do not follow google maps’ directions to it, unless you want to walk past a half dozen very confused people doing drugs in the back alley

Tasty vegan chicken - Edit
The chicken sampler plate, the pincho sampler plate, and the Impossible pastelillo were all very delicious. The rice is flavorful but not overpowering, and the vegan chicken is tender, slightly crispy, and seasoned just right.

First timer visit - Edit
My order:
Read morePincho (skewer) sampler plate
Arroz con gandules (seasoned Puerto Rican rice), sweet yellow plantains, Side salad with two BBQ vegan chicken skewers.
$20. Recommended for first timers
Nice exposure to cuisine with a sampler. Three tasty sweet yellow plantains. The two skewers had that meaty texture and sweet flavored BBQ sauce. Generous portion of special rice which was tasty. Healthy green side salad included. I hope to try the mofungo cups which look interesting and try the other few menu items. Dined in , the space is very clean, spacious at Saluhall, just wish everything were a bit warmer temperature wise. Saw someone get to go for SF ballgame, not sure how it would hold up at a cold ballgame in the summer??
Thumbs up for my first vegan Puerto Rican try.
Pros: Good flavors, Nice sampler

Vegan 🇵🇷 que rico - Edit
I really enjoyed the food here it reminded me of my time spent with a Puerto Rican family. I ordered the mofongo cups and rice and it hit the spot. I am looking forward to trying more of the menu next time I'm at Saluhall. Definitely worth trying!

It's inside of IKEA - Edit
Casa Borinqueña is inside of IKEA on the second floor. It's a food court style setup, and La Venganza is next to it in the food court. This is a lot different than their old location in Oakland. The food is amazing, though. It's the best food I've ever had in a food court. If you love plantains you're going to love the food here. I got the sampler platter and was able to eat sweet plantains, green plantains, incredible rice with olives, and BBQ skewers.
Read moreThere's not much to say about service since it's a low service enviornment, but the food was ready in a reasonable amount of time, and it was a very enjoyable meal.

So delicious! - Edit
The sampler plate with pinchos (bbq chicken skewers) was so good. I really liked the skewers and I could see myself getting a side of those in the future. The plantains were really good, crispy, and hot. Really happy to support a 100% vegan restaurant!!

Really tasty - Edit
Get the meat skewers, they were sooooo good. The platter was a bit heavy on the rice but all the sides were great. I also enjoyed the tres leches but eating all of it was a bit too much sweetness for me.

Tried out the vegan beef pastelillo. It’s like a deep-fried empanada 🤤

Omg the Tres Leches cake! - Edit
I got the Tres Leches cake for dessert along with dinner from other SaluHall vendors and WOW it was sooo delish! Never thought I would find a vegan Tres Leches cake. The yellow cake was deliciously vanilla-y and the coconut whipped cream on top with cinnamon was perfect. I was not expecting to like it this much. Will be dreaming about this for weeks to come, and will need to go back to try their savory dishes.

I LOVE this place - Edit
Absolutely delicious comfort / Puerto Rican food. Chef Lulu is truly an innovator for making so many meat and dairy heavy Puerto Rican dishes veganized. From the pastellios, boriqua fries, and the arroz con gondulas, everything is so flavorful and comforting. Please support this stand when you find yourself at Saluhall

Love - Edit
If vegan food in Puerto Rico is like this, I need to plan a trip! I’ve been a fan of Casa Borinqueña since they first opened in Oakland and was so excited to see them reincarnate in Saluhall. Their plantains are magical, and their chicken is on point. Very hearty food.

Amazing! - Edit
We had never tried Puerto Rican food before so were very curious about this place when it popped up on happycow. It’s in the IKEA food court and has plenty of seating, other vegan or vegan friendly restaurants and bars. The food was delicious and flavourful. We did the mix plate and the impossible hand pie.

Nice vegan food from Puerto Rico - Edit
My wife and I were exposed to Puerto Rican cuisine on a business trip so we were very curious to visit Casa Borinqueña in the IKEA food mall. Their counter foot print is small but the eating area is quite large. We had the Monfongo cups. They were delicious. We really liked the layered texture rather than the mash type monfongo you see in Puerto Rico. We second the opinion to order something green to make it feel more like a meal. Also, second the opinion to order extra sauce.

Tasty Puerto Rican Cuisine, Great Location - Edit
One of the many great vegan options on the new Saluhall. The use of plantains and vegan chicken make for a delicious and filling meal. Mofongos are good size and delicious. Support the vegan businesses in downtown SF and try it out!

So good😃 - Edit
Glad to see Lulu was able to find a new location. Took the ferry boat and nice walk here. The food court has a lot of options. I had the large chickin plate. Plantains, salad, rice, chickin. All well prepared and tasty. Great to see real plates and silverware used instead of to go packaging.

My husband and I shared the chicken sampler plate, a pork Pastelillo and a chicken pincho skewer. The sampler plate included chicken, rice, plantains and a green salad. The menu is 100% plant-based and everything was very flavorful and delicious, so amazingly good! Chef Lulu and her crew were super nice. This little place is a gem!
