One of the few places I could find in Porto that did a vegan francesinha. I’m vegetarian so was able to get regular cheese and get an egg on top (though they do a fully vegan version too). The staff were so lovely and helpful when deciphering the menu. Would give 5 stars if I could!

This deserves 5 stars, I’m sorry happycow doesn’t allow it. I go there all the time because it has the best vegan Francesinhas’s in town and the normal francesinha is fantastic too, so I take friends there all the time😄The fries are great also. It has outdoor seating in an interior patio, great for summer nights.

As a portuguese i think it was very authentic! Very tasty with a wide variety of options, from starters to deserts (🇵🇹cookie cake, choc mouse, oreo mouse, houses dessert)! The chocolate mouse was amazing! Didnt notice it was vegan, had the air bubbles!

Pica pau - has the same francesinha sauce and tangy flavour from pickles, quite good if youre tired of francesinha bc the flavours are similar and omg so filling, couldnt even finish!
We still had space for the amazing cheesecake!

Opções vegans bastante bem confeccionadas, com um grande cuidado tanto na elaboração como na manutenção dos "sabores" tracicionais. De todos os restaurantes vegans que já experimentei no Porto, este foi sem dúvida nenhuma, o que mais me agradou. Comi uma francesinha vegan, e uma mousse de chocolate, todas as sobremesas são vegan e digo-vos que foi de comer e chorar por ir lá de novo. O atendimento é muito atencioso, eficiente e acolhedor. Uma experiência surpreendente e muito agradável.

This place is always full and for good reason. Many vegans came here because they truly make an effort. They have an entire vegan menu with multiple vegan meats, cheeses and sausages making delicious and typically Portuguese dishes. Also ALL of the desserts are vegan, we tried all of them except the cheesecake. I recommend mostly the mousse the chocolate and doce da casa.

É um prato que fica facilmente enjoativo, mas esta, apesar de continuar a ser um prato pesado, consegui comer bem até ao fim! Batatas fritas também muito boas! Estava com muita vontade de provar uma francesinha mais elaborada e saí totalmente satisfeita. O molho e o queijo vegano são de outro planeta! Meu pai pediu um pica pau vegano que também estava muito bom e bem temperado. O local é pequeno mas há uma área externa. O problema é que quando fomos estava chovendo muito e era sábado de noite então quase não conseguimos sentar.. eu recomendaria reservar caso seja fim de semana! A e não esqueçam de trazer dinheiro pq não aceitam cartões!

The best vegan francesinha in Porto hands down. They also introduced me to the world of vegan chorizo, as an appetizer. I can't wait to go back and try their new vegan desserts too.

Food was great, staff was nice and a dinner for two people including 1 appetizer, 2 main dishes, 2 drinks and 2 desserts was 37€!

Já provei inúmeras francesinhas no Porto e nenhum chega aos pés do capricho e sabor da francesinha do Casa Nova. Usam produtos de qualidade que se encontram expostos na vitrine e sem contar que todas as sobremesas são vegan, provem o doce da casa e o bolo de bolacha.

The restaurant has a dedicated vegan menu with lots of options (sandwiches, alheira, francesinha, as well as desserts). The vegan francesinha is is amazing and probably the best in town. The fries and sauce are great as well. The staff is also very welcoming and nice.

Read moreEra una cena de grupo, para celebrar el cumpleaños de un amigo. Se había hecho la reserva, pero no he podido entrar porque los animales no son bienvenidos y mi perrita, que es una dulzura y no considerada un animal peligroso (lo digo por si acaso lo comentan y lo justifican con ese argumento) no ha podido entrar. Ni siquiera en la terraza. Puedo comprender que no sea permitida la entrada de animales en el interior del restaurante (hay incluso una señal que lo pone en la entrada), pero es inaceptable que un lugar donde se sirve comida vegan no acepte animales en el espacio exterior. Ser vegan va mucho más allá de solo comer “francesinha” vegan. Va por el respecto y el cariño hacia los animales, y por crear espacios donde todxs lxs seres sean bienvenidxs. El marketing está muy mal hecho y no es porque dejas de comer carne que eres vegan o amante de los animales. Asimismo, lugares como este, con cero conciencia, no lo recomendaría por si eres realmente vegan. Porque si eres vegan, vas a querer estar con tu animal en todas partes y en lugares donde realmente se respectan los animales. Porto se está transformando en una ciudad donde lo que importa son las personas turistas y los locales más tradicionales ya no se importan con las personas locales y clientes de hace años (como es el caso de las personas que han organizado la cena).
En resumen, no es un lugar que recomendaría para personas vegan.

Great Place for All Diets - Edit
Although a little outside the center, this place is a great fit for groups looking for an eatery that doesn't discriminate against diets. The staff was super friendly and cared about our enjoyment of the food. The prego and Francesinha were great. The desserts blew us away. The cookie cake was fantastic, flaky, creamy, and moist, and the Dolc de Casa was unbelievably creamy, filled with different hidden textures within the many layers.

This lovely restaurant has a dedicated sheet of vegan options, including some veganized traditional Portuguese dishes. From "Alheira", "francesinha", "pica-pau" and burgers to a variety of options of all vegan desserts (cheesecake, cookie cake...)! The prices are affordable and the quantities of food perfect. I definitely recommend. The food is amazing, as well as the staff.

Was nice to see so many vegan options on the menu. Myself and my partner had for the vegan Francesinha which was incredible and for dessert we had the cheesecake (best one i have had in the last 6 years of being vegan) and the traditional Bolo de Bolacha which brought back so many memories of the one my Nan used to make.

It's the third time I come to Porto and the second one I come here to eat Francesinha after being disappointed of it in vegan places.
Read moreI never tried the original Francesinha but this one is really meaty. Maybe I'd drop a bit in the chorizo flavour but it's amazing. The fries and the sauce are great too.
They have more vegan options now, basically they took advantage of the fake meat ingredients they used in the francesinha and made other dishes. They even sell vegan products at the counter. Good to find places like this.
Only downside, it's far from the city center and you need to take the metro to get there, but it's fast and easy.
The staff is also very nice and makes you feel welcome.
