We came here for dinner and ordered some tapas and a tofu vegetable bowl. The latter was tasty, yet I expected it to be more like a Vietnamese summer bowl with many uncooked and some cooked ingredients. It’s more like a curry in a satay sauce and a small side salad.

Das Essen war hervorragend. Alles, was wir bestellt haben, war sehr gut: die Kokos-Suppe, das Curry, die selbst gemachten Limonaden, etc. Auch das Ambiente ist perfekt: Im Garten unter Sonnenschirm und Bäumen. Unbedingte Empfehlung.

I went there with bunch of Italian friend. The menu was good and is fully vegan. We take all either the 24 dish with vegan duck or the monkey one. They were all very big with vegetables and rice. The price with dish and a drink was 16 each more or less.

Leckeres Vleisch und kreativer Dumpling - Edit
Ich hatte die Satéspieße (11) und den pyramiden dumpling (4 oder 8 ) und die limettenlimonade. Bei dem Dumpling hatte ich mich vertan: Wollte eher was frittiertes. Der Dumpling war eher Knödel mit Pilzfüllung, was nicht schlecht war. Die Sojasauce dazu richtig lecker. Das Vleisch der Satéspieße richtig gut!

Lots of free tables on a Sunday evening.
Need to add this update as I noticed that I was feeling very hyper when I left and shortly afterwards crashed pretty hard. So it seems that there's a lot of sugar even in the savory dishes (didn't have desert or a soda). I am sensitive to sugar but usually I'm fine as long as I don't have ice cream so I'm a bit shocked to feel hungover the next morning from this meal 😬

Dieses Restaurant bietet ganz neue Genüsse - Edit
Eigentlich wollten wir das Restaurant ausprobieren, weil es komplett vegan, neu und in der Nähe war… aber was ein Glücksgriff!
Read moreWir hatten zwei selbstgemachte Limos und einen Smoothie, alles richtig gut und nicht verwässert. Hatte lange keine selbstgemachte Limo mehr bei asiatischen Restaurants, die so gut war.
Gericht 23 (Curry mit Ente) war schön angerichtet und schmackhaft, Nummer 25 jedoch hat mich enorm begeistert. Angepriesen als „Bowl“ waren jede Menge Gemüsezutaten und ein paar Reisbandnudeln wesentlich besser abgestimmt und schmackhafter, als ich es erwartet hätte. Die Zutaten einzeln gegessen waren schon gut, aber auch vermischt (wozu mich die Kellnerin motivieren wollte :D) schmeckte es super. Ich verabscheue sonst rote Beete und vertrage kaum eine Chili im gleichen Raum wie ich — aber hier passte sogar die rote Beete ins Gesamtkonzept und auch die Schärfe war schmackhaft statt dass sie das Gericht ertränkte.
In letzter Zeit schmeckten viele asiatische (vor allem vietnamesische) Restaurants sehr ähnlich, vielleicht weil sie sich häufig am Vegan Living 1990 orientieren. Das Chay Long hingegen hat seine ganz eigenen Ideen und ich bin jetzt schon großer Fan.
Um 17:00 war es noch komplett leer — vielleicht waren potentielle Gäste auch von der Baustelle vorm Haus abgeschreckt. Da wird noch am Deck/Gastgarten gearbeitet, so dass man außenrum gehen muss. Das Restaurant ist somit versteckt aber offen. Geheimtipp für Leute wie uns, die sonst während Covid eigentlich nur Essen zum Mitnehmen bestellen und hier spontan doch drinnen sitzen konnten :).
Drinnen ist es übrigens richtig schön: Viel Holz, Schnitzereien, abgetrennte Bereiche für größere Gruppen, Moos an den Wänden und Kunst-Sakuras, hier wurden alle Register gezogen.
Freue mich sehr auf den nächsten Besuch.
