Surprisingly boring - Edit
I love the concept of this place and was really looking forward to stopping by and trying a chimney cake. Unfortunately, I don’t think it lives up to the hype. While the presentation is great and there are plenty of varieties to choose from, it’s quite difficult to eat and, sadly, didn’t deliver on taste. It’s a shame, but I can't recommend it at the moment.

Looked beautiful tasted meh - Edit
Chimneys is a great concept. Unfortunately the ice cream itself isn’t that tasty and some of the toppings I got like the toffee had no taste at all. Wouldn’t go back but would love if this spot just tweaked some things it would be great.

Ok - Edit
Unfortunately it was just ok. Nothing bad or so but i wasnt super impressed. My friend ordered peach ice cream and it turned out to be sorbet, and it wasnt in the information. She wanted soft ice cream witch i seams to be on the meny. Still i am very happy that they offer soft ice cream which we dont have in Sweden. Also i was full after a big dinner which can be a part of the disappointment.

Good but overrated - Edit
I would recommend this to anyone with a real sweet tooth. But for your average person it’s a bit more of a novelty and only worth it if you’re already close by or looking for a dessert on the larger side. I just think all the 5 star reviews are a little misleading.

fun! but with a long wait. - Edit
delicious soft ice with different fillings and some sort of pastry ‘cone’. we expected it to go quite fast but the wait was a bit longer because the make the pastry fresh (really cool!). there were a ton of options and the ones we had also had fresh berries in it which was nice in an otherwise very heavy ice cream snack. i’m happy we tried it 🍦

Fun pastry, long wait time - Edit
Chimney is a fun spin on the classic soft ice cone. Freshly baked, churro-like, cone with fresh berries and soft ice on it. They have a massive menu with all kinds of different setups, including the ‘build your own’ option.
Read moreWe did however need to wait 20min. Which felt insane given that you’re paying for a little pastry with mostly premade stuff. I get that they make the cones from scratch. But we were the only people there for this time duration and it took 20 minutes. If there are more than 5 people it can, in theory, take almost up to an hour.
The result was interesting, in a good way! The best part however was the soft ice cream, and I don’t think the things around it was worth the extra 5€. Fun concept, but would rather have just a regular soft ice for a 1/3 of the price.
Pros: Concept, Wide option range, Friendly
Cons: Wait time, Price

Pros: Geschmack , Frische
Cons: Zeit, To Go kaum möglich

Slightly Inconvenient Take Away - Edit
I ordered The Original to take away. While the wait of ~10 Minutes was a little annoying, it was understandable considering that the bread/cake was freshly baked. Quality that was absolutely reflected in the taste.
Read moreWooden spoons were available for take away and there was so much food in this one Chimney that I was busy eating it for a long time. However, towards the end it got a little more complicated to reach the bottom parts. I guess that can be avoided by eating in the store were you've got "cupholders" and longer spoons. Plus, I didn't really fancy whatever they put as filling at the very bottom.
But whenever I visit Berlin on a hot day again, I might come back here and try some more Chimneys.
Pros: Fresh quality of the food, Large portions
Cons: Little difficult to eat as take away

Tasty chimney cake - Edit
Although the quality is more convenience style, the chimney cakes are very tasty and the many options are great if you go there with friends. If you like sweet vegan food, you can hardly leave it out when you are in Berlin.

What a time we live in where something so rich and delicious can be 100% vegan. It's do hard to pick a flavour, that's why it's worth coming back a few times to find your favourite!

You can find amazing Chimney cakes here! A lot of different flavours and styles. They also have some more traditional options (though even half of those are not really traditional) but they are all great. They even have Soft-Server Ice Cream!

Fun to try once, not for repeats - Edit
The chimneys looked very promising on paper - er, screen - but they turned out quite mediocre.
Read moreThe bread was the best part.
The ice cream was... odd. It wasn't really ice cream but more of a mix with soft ice and it came from a machine. It was cold and weird in texture and flavor.
The toppings were fun and I really liked that for once I could have the full ice cream experience (lots of ice cream places don't have vegan sauces or toppings) but the chocolate sprinkles were falling off and everything was way too sweet. The cookie on top had obviously been exposed to the air for a long time and was inedible.
Moreover, the chimney cake was a mess to eat. Stuff was falling off and the plate was too small to catch it, and ice cream was leaking from the hole in the bottom of the bread.
All in all, the experience was enough to satisfy my curiosity, but I'm sad to say it wasn't as wonderful as I had hoped and that I won't be buying a chimney cake again.
Pros: it's something different, there was a toilet
Cons: a mess to eat, not enough flavor

Lots of choices about the cream but all is chimney. Which is cinnamon bun with cream. They have small ones sold in fours. My favourite was the tiramisu. Not many great dessert options in Berlin. This one worth a try.

Brilliant cafe serving Chimneys - Edit
A great place that cooks completely vegan Chimneys, made freshly and cooked to order. You can either order one of their suggested flavour mix or make up your own. I had fresh mango and vanilla ice cream. The food was served quickly and the staff were very friendly. It really hit the spot on a hot afternoon in Berlin. Seating inside or out and a very clean toilet.

Originell - Edit

This was more of a me issue, but the dessert I ordered was too sweet. I think had I ordered a fruit based one I would have enjoyed it more.
