Com-met to eating vegan in Playa! - Edit
This place is so cute and so delicious! We were ecstatic to get off the resort (where we’ve been eating mostly salads and potatoes with guacamole) and get a full vegan meal that was so thoughtfully prepared and tasty. The owner and chef are both really friendly and helpful. The bacon cheese fries and BBQ burger were awesome, next up is the snickers milkshake!

Oh my god the snickers shake BANGS!!! This place is great! We had the snicker shake the strawberry shake, hot dog, fish style burger, comet burger, barbecue burger and chips with cheese and bacon style pieces and everything was really tasty. The staff are lovely and you can leave a message in the toilet, where there are many vegan statements. I will really miss their snickers shake, it’s the best!

Everything was perfect. The taste of the fishy burger is insane. The snickers milkshake is soooo delicious, the sausages they use for the corn and hot dogs are simply delightful. You can't leave Playa without visiting this place. Is the best vegan restaurant in the city, and maybe one of the best in Mexico.

Best Vegan Burger And Smothered Fries In Playa! - Edit
I normally cook at home, but consulted Happy Cow to see what was available around me. Craving a burger I went to Comet hopeful and they DID NOT disappoint! I got the spicy burger and fries with "cheese" & "bacon". The fries were amazing! every fry coated (smothered) in cheesy-bacon goodness!
Read moreI don't know how they make the sauce, but it was the best "cheese" I've had! The burger so flavorful and taste explosions in your mouth. I'm super excited to have found this place. I will be frequenting on my cheat days. I'm still stuffed 5 hours later!
The prices are great for what you get! My artisan soda, burger, and loaded fries was 150 pesos ($8.50) seriously a steal for the quality!

Vegan burgers, hot dogs, fries, shakes and natural sodas. All in the decor of a 50's rock n roll diner. Had a burger with all the fixins, and a side of bacon and cheese covered fries. Very tasty and juicy. Great food, cool decor.

It's my favorite restaurant in town! The food is amazing, even my meat eating friends love their burgers and milkshakes! The place is so rockabilly and nice, and the owners are the kindest! Don't go elsewhere if you want a burger. Comet 984 is THE burger place to go to!

I ordered mine wrapped in lettuce but when I requested that the waitress said : WHAT!!!??? With her Cute French accent
I eexplained to her she explain to the chef they didn't wrap it in lettuce but they gave me a whole bunch of lettuce on the side

The place was clean overall the bathroom was a small and clean
With lots of interesting notes on the wall from the fellow vegans such as "I keep animal in my ❤️ not in my stomach
Pros: The only vegan joint close to the busy fifth Stree, interesting diner experience, Great spicy burger 🍔
Cons: they will have Internet soon, not much green choices including green drinks

We were happy to find a vegan place in Playa del carmen. You can tell that there was a lot of thought behind it and it has many nice details.

Furniture and music fits all together.
Pommes, Burgers, Drinks, Cofé and a crepe for 2 tip was a little over 400.
Personnel could be friendlier, but anyways how could you not give full stars for an all vegan place if youre vegan!

Cons: personnel, open kitchen makes your eyes burn

Been a huge fan of Comet984 delicacies from when they used to participate at local markets and events. Couldn't wait for them to open the actual restaurant and I was proud to be one of the first clients. Amazing environment in this well decorated 50's Diner: go back in time and enjoy all kind of quality fast food options: Burgers, Hot Dogs, Corn Dogs, Fried Cheese, Fries, Nachos, Ice Creams, Cakes,... everything so creamy and cheesy no one would guess it is vegan. If these reasons are not enough to eat at Comet984, the friendly owners are long time vegan activists who run the restaurants themselves.
