Delicious food

The owner of Corarima was so welcoming and explained the dishes and how to eat them. It was lovely to try a different cuisine.
My brother and sister (non veggies) enjoyed the food too. We went for the combination plates so that we could try a variety and see what we liked best for a return visit. If only I lived nearer I would be there frequently.

Pros: Excellent service, Wonderful unusual flavours, Nicely decorated restaurant

Something A Bit Different

As an occasional visitor to Wakefield finding somewhere to eat had always been a bit of a difficulty, but thanks to Happy Cow I saw that Corarima had opened and it looked well worth a visit, which indeed it was. We went for the combination meal (for two or more people) which provided an excellent taster of different vegan foods. Pleasant relaxed atmosphere as well.

Pros: City Centre location, Nice relaxes atmosphere, A cuisine I had never tried before

Cons: None

Fantastic

Delicious food, lots to choose from (everything is vegan). Very attentive service.
We parked in a car park nearby that had free parking after 6pm (Providence Street).
Nice décor. Complimentary sesame (and secret ingredient) treat at the end of the meal.

Spice up your life

We had a fantastic experience at Corarima. We ordered the combination meal for two with a hummus side for our young son. The food was exceptional and had such a depth of flavour and perfectly spiced. The highlight was most definitely the flax stew that was so rich and flavoursome and the injera, which I had never ever had before. Even the hummus dish was smooth and delicious. We also ordered a beso and telba cold drink, which were both so refreshing. The telba was nutty in flavour, whilst the beso tasted like coconut. A final word must go to the staff who were so hospitable and friendly. A must visit.

Pros: Excellent food, Friendly staff, Nice vibe

Hidden Gem

A very friendly welcome, attentive service, and delicious food.
An unassuming frontage on a side street in Wakefield leads in to a beautiful space full of warmth (decor, welcome, food).
I can't not mention the toilets, strange you may think, but it's one of the warmest and most hygienic toilets I've had the pleasure to use in a cafe setting.
Our first visit here was a New Year's Eve surprise for me - I loved it, great pressie:) We have been back, taken a friend and can't wait to introduce other friends. Do go!

Pros: Great tasting food, Very friendly welcome, Cleanest and warmest toilet

Firstly the host was so gracious, he was friendly, chatty, and informative. The side dishes were really lovely and the two person sharing dish was a bargain. The flavours of the food were complex and presented so nicely. The restaurant looks amazing from the moment you step in. A must-visit. Please open a restaurant in Manchester!

Fantastic food and perfect service

My husband and I ate here last night, and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The service was impeccable- the owner/chef’s husband was an absolute gentleman and was incredibly hospitable, even taking our baby off for a cuddle so my husband and I could eat with both hands. The food was out of this world. I’d never eaten Ethiopian before but I am not definitely a convert! We had the combination meal for two, which was a beautifully presented sharing platter with lots of different dishes. Every one of them was lovely. We also had some homous and fried flatbread, both of which were delicious too. We are both gluten free as well as vegan, and could have had 95% of the menu... in fact,’I’m sure we will be back to make our way through it!
We live an hour away and it’s well worth the journey. We can’t wait to come again - but you might want to book ahead, as they were fully booked last night and were having to turn people away.

Amazing food and hosts

Visited with a friend who is also coeliac and there was so much choice for both of us - only 1 or 2 options not suitable for vegans (but all Veggie) or ceoliacs. Owners amazingly friendly.

Pros: Lots of vegan options. , Great value.

Amazing!

The interior was made of beautifully crafted Ethiopian fabrics and basketwork. The food was delightful and a new experience for me. I've been telling my friends about it for weeks. The family who own it were gracious and kind. I'll certainly be going again with friends in tow.

Pros: Mostly vegan but not all, Mainly gluten free, Hospitality was more than I could have wished for

Amazing, tasty, healthy, great atmosphere

I loved the food, which says a lot! It felt home made. Tasty and healthy, I felt satisfied without feeling heavy, and it was easy to digest, which I can't say for most tasty food out in restaurants. I am not gluten free, but I appreciate a break from gluten too, especially when it's so tasty! The injera is amazing. My friend who I went with was equally enthusiastic, and I brought some home to my boyfriend who also loved it. We also loved the space, the music and the food presentation (although we forgot to take a photo of our main before tacking in), and the owners seemed lovely.

Well worth a visit to Wakefield! We combined with a visit to Yorkshire Sculpture Park, they are also very close to the Hepworth gallery. We'll be going back!

Pros: Tastes amazing, All vegan, Gluten free and healthy/easy to digest

Cons: Not super expensive but not Wakefield prices eithe

My new favourite place.

What a fantastic little place.
I and my fellow vegan buddy were treated a warm welcome and some great food.
The combination platter that basically give you a taste of most dishes.
Smashing down the gluten free teft pancakes wrapped around some delicious stews was a taste sensation and the coffee with a hint of ginger (and popcorn)was amazing.
Will be coming again and again.

Pros: fully vegan options.

Cons: not cheap.

Vegan food at its best

We were blown away when we visited this newly opened restaurant, hidden away down a side street in the centre of Wakefield. It is only a small place with a few tables, but so welcoming and cosy inside, with a clean and sleek yet lovingly decorated interior. We noticed there was a ramp available if needed for wheelchair access, and the toilet is accessible too. It's a family run business, and the staff were so lovely and friendly, chatting away with customers and giving out (delicious) complimentary nibbles. They promote themselves as a vegetarian/vegan business, and when we asked they confirmed that all food is suitable for vegans. The menu is separated into main dishes made from pulses, main dishes made from vegetables, combination dishes and sides. There's plenty to choose from, so we had a big combination dish to share, to sample different dishes. No cutlery is used, it's all served up on injera with various additional breads so you can eat with your hands. And the quality of the food is just WOW. Surely vegan food at its very best: amazing, delicate flavours, all in a beautiful combination. This is definitely up there with the best food we've eaten - highly recommended!

Fabulous food, fabulous coffee, fabulous welcome

By chance we happened to walk past Corarima just before they opened for their second day of trading and the owner came out to explain a little bit about the restaurant and the food & coffee they served. A few hours later, when we were ready to eat, we returned to the restaurant and spotted a family tucking into the "Combination Dish", right away we knew that's what we would like too. We did have a look at the menu which was jam packed with vegetarian and vegan options (there is a very short meat & fish menu 4 options) We were grateful that we did not have to make the selection for the Combination meal as the choices on offer were all very tempting so deciding on just 6 would have been very difficult. The staff made us feel extremely welcome and explained the different types of dishes in the beautifully presented Combination meal, which was served with Injera - Abyssinian pancakes/crepes which double up as cutlery and are very, very tasty. After the meal we had Abyssinian coffee, served with popcorn which was very refreshing and unlike any other coffee we have tasted. At the end of the meal we thanked the owner and his family for the wonderful food and their great service, and he informed us that everything was cooked fresh by his wife using as many organic ingredients as possible, which made it extra special. The people of Wakefield and the surrounding area should count themselves lucky to have such a wonderful restaurant, and when we are in the area again we will make sure we pop in.

Pros: Great range of Veggie and Vegan Food, Very friendly staff, Family run

Cons: Too many wonder options to choose from
