Great café - Edit
I went to Dale Café for lunch today, and I loved everything I ate: the muhammara, the toast with cashew cheese and the dulce de leche cheesecake. Plus, I ordered a pistachio roscón de reyes, and it was absolutely delicious. The staff are super nice. Almost everything is vegan, including the roscón. I totally recommend this place.

Great vegan breakfast - Edit
They have a great menu for a quick breakfast. All their pastries looked amazing, we tried the lemon blueberry. The orange juice was fresh squeezed and some of the best I've had. The yogurt was soy with fresh fruit. The cashew cheese toast brought up the memories of childhood grilled cheese, but much better.

Great find! - Edit
We had a really lovely set menu here. It started with a cold or hot soup and there was then a choice of around 5 different courses for the second plate. We tried an asian food inspired peanut dish and a pesto pasta. Both were great and the set menu came with an ice tea.
Read moreEven though we were full we couldn't help but be tempted by the fantastic cake selection. We got chocolate with a salted fudge-like topping, a pistachio cheesecake and lemon and blueberry cake.
This is definitely a place to return to. Seating is good and the toilet was clean.

Fantastic place - Edit
Dale is a rare combination of specialty coffee shop with a cafe of mainly vegan offerings, and seems to be a continuation of the gone-but-not-forgotten La Colectiva, albeit with a much more extensive - but no less thoughtful - menu. The place has a neutral ambiance, which would seem vapid and trendy if the food and drink weren't so pleasing, or the high standards so apparent.
Read morePrices for food items harken back to pre-covid times, and are decidedly good value for the quality and quantity that you get, which tends to be well-curated, well-presented toasts and sandwiches, overflowing and pleasing to the eye. Although they've added eggs to the menu, there is the vegan scramble as an alternative. It's not tofu but something more akin to JustEgg in the States. The bread is artisanal, sourdough type, and many of the dishes are a collision of high plate-art with comfort food, such as the grilled cheese with pickles, or the hummus with baked pumpkin and a hearty glug of olive oil.
We've been several times for an indulgent breakfast, and Dale has never disappointed, as specialty cafes (especially in the center) often do. You don't feel ripped off by even the higher value-added items, since it's filling and done up so tastily. They claim to pursue seasonality and variety with their menu, and seem very much to hold true to that.
It's on a quiet street off Tirso de Molina. Don't miss it!
Pros: Great coffee for under 3 euros
Cons: No A/C

Almost cried when I had their yogurt bowl. It felt like home 😭 The frosted pumpkin bread was delicious also. Best plant based milk latte in the city. Note that they only have oat milk for those lattes.

My #1 place in Madrid. - Edit
Went there probably 20 times. I just love it. Try their banana bread, their brownie and their avocado & tahini toast. Or try whatever you want, everything they have is delicious. Friendly Argentinian staff, nice vibes, good music and pet-friendly. The best place to be in Madrid.

DALE NIGHT - Edit
