Fantastische thema avonden, aanrader!

Pros: Creatieve keuken, Vriendelijk personeel, Prima prijs-kwaliteit verhouding

A Sour Aftertaste

I really wanted to love this place. Our last meal in Belgium. Cute place. That's it!Soup no flavor, vegetables overcooked, tiny portions, overpriced; two small glasses of what was probably tap water for three dollars. Slow service. Paid for the large meal which was identical to the regular meal. No time to contest the bill cause we had to catch a train. Bad lunch for two - $50. Not worth Happy Cow's
two star minimum for veggie places.

Pros: cute place

Charmant

In the back of the house, crossing a little yard, is this small familiar restaurant. Near to be vegan. They cook in front of you, all is open. They have only a daily menu but is tasty and good prepared. Nice garden for the summer.

Pros: Friendly owner

Creative & elegant cooking

'De Groene Waaier' is a bit tucked away in a quit street. However, from the train station it is but a mere 5 minutes walk.

In my opninion, the biggest asset of the cook is the seasoning. It is very subtle and one often gets appetized in an unexpected way.
They're mostly serving a combination of grains with different preparations of vegetables, but there's always some surprising tastes on your plate.
When the weather is nice, you can enjoy your meal in the beautiful garden.
Desserts are usually splendid!
Prices are very reasonable.

The minus points for me are the rather small portions (though you can always ask for a bit more if you still feel hungry), and the unkindness of the table attendant, though this varies from day to day. The cook on the other hand (it's an open kitchen) is always very friendly.

This restaurant is most definitely worthwhile a visit!

Pros: Exquisit and subtle seasoning, Quiet and lush garden, Good value

Cons: Small portions, Sometimes unfriendly table attendant
