French style restaurant and creperie in the West Village since 2016. Dishes may include vegan steak truffle frites, coq au vin, poulet Basquaise, and crepes, both sweet and savory (galettes). Makes plant-based cheeses in-house. Small and intimate. Relocated from 20 Christopher St. Open Mon-Sun 11:00am-10:30pm. Bakery opens from 8am to 9pm.

GO HERE - Edit
This restaurant is exactly what you pray it is - amazing French vegan food. Honestly, it was so hard to pick what to get. The waiter suggested Escargot and Coq Au Vin. Of course, he said he could only one favorite. It has been so long since I had proper French food. I could have cried. Come here!! 🥹❤️

Vegan chilling in NYC - Edit
A unique experience. Delicious vegan food structured around the idea of a French bistro. The vegan cheeses are out of this world. Right now kind of undiscovered.

Unique options - Edit
Nice outdoor seating, a bit pricey but unique menu. Unfortunately I don’t think I ordered the best option - the steak frites - it really just tasted like a basic hamburger patty. If you’re seeking something ‘authentic’ or unique then definitely do not order that.
Read moreThe escargot appetizer was delicious.
Didn’t try the crepes but will do so next visit!
Pros: All vegan, Unique options
Cons: Pricey, “Steak” was boring

Seriously! Vegan French Food! - Edit
We began with the mozzarella and tomato, escargot, Brie with potatoes. I have no words. I can just say amazing! Then we had breauf bourganon, Leonard De Vinci and couq co vin for dinner and sweet crepes and creme brûlée for desert. Everything was so delicious. And…Mathis was awesome with service, friendliness and knowledge!!!!

Great food and atmosphere! - Edit
Went here with some out-of-town non-veg friends who wanted to try a nice place. Both me and they were blown away at how good it was. Would 100% recommend the BŒUF BOURGUIGNON and POULET BASQUAISE, they were both amazing.

Seven stars! - Edit
Since hotels started doing this ‘7 stars’ thing I think it’s about time to start a 7 star vegan restaurant rating too. How in the world is this food possible? Over the years — in our other life — we ate at so many outstanding (non plant-based) bistros in Paris and the Provence and this chef does exactly what French food makes itself so special but in a plant-based version. I couldn’t believe all the dishes we had tonight: Foie gras, saumon, steak tartare, coq au vin, crepe suzette. With the whole setting in the Village you almost see the French street artists and hear the chansons. The most perfect night out in NYC for vegans like us. Christophe Caron rocks! (His brother was our server) 🤩

Cozy Dining Space. Beautifully Executed Food. - Edit
My time at Delice & Sarassin was a memorable one: I'm glad I came here to try my first Boeuf Bourguinon (Beef Stew), and I also ate a crêpe: two classic French dishes.
Read moreThe flavor of the Boeuf Bourguinon was tangy and savory, and the potatoes and carrots in the dish balanced the tart flavor of the tender "beef" (pea protein).
The crêpe came in large square shape with whipped cream, melted chocolate, powdered sugar and bananas: I appreciated how generous the portions were for this dish.
The dining space was elegant, with gray walls, a chandelier shaped like a flower bouquet, and books on French culinary arts that I appreciated were there, since I ate here solo and wanted time away from my phone. :-)

Crêpes! - Edit
This place is really cute and the service is good. My friend and I split some savory crepes for lunch, the crepes themselves were super tasty. I loved mine, a salmon crème fraîche and avocado delight, and my friend got spiced potato, tomato and onion with cheese. I was a little disappointed with the cheese, seemed like the crême fraîche was tofutti and the melty cheese was daiya or something. For a lovely French café I was hoping for more artisanal cheeses. Still a great lunch though!

Hit or miss - Edit
Ordered two crepes from here- the strawberry/chocolate one was good but there was no whipped cream (listed in the description) but the savory one with sausage/cheese was not good. The crepe itself was very dry and the filling was not great- the flavor wasn’t good and the cheese was extremely gloopy. We didn’t even finish it and threw it away😒I wouldn’t come back because for how expensive it is, I would’ve expected more.

Perfect for special occasion - Edit
Celebrated my first dinner inside a restaurant in over a year with a special friends' birthday dinner. We ordered two apps and two entrees. Service was impeccable, food was amazing, and portion size was very generous, especially given the typically tiny plates most French restaurants bring out. Total came to just over $90 after tip. If you order wine and/or desert, total will be north of $100, so my suggestion is to save this place for a special occasion.

Disappointed - Edit
I had high hopes given what I’ve read but unfortunately the dish I got was too salty and was hard to finish. Another thing to note is you must make a reservation. I didn’t realize this so ended up ordering to go.

Delicious! My favorite! Worth every penny - Edit
This is my absolute favorite vegan restaurant in New York, and at this point, perhaps anywhere. I dream of the coq au vin. Some reviews complain of the price, but the quality makes it so worth it. Perhaps it's not a restaurant you visit every week, but more on special occasions. And anyway it will BE a special occasion when you eat there, no matter what.

Vegan French food is hard to find! - Edit
The baked goods, like the Crossaints, are pretty good, as are the crepes which are thin and balance the thicker, creamier fillings. I found the steak frites disappointing as the “steak” was more like a burger patty. I would say worth a try if you are in the area.

Unique - Edit
This restaurant surprised me. I didn't know what to expect when booking the reservation. I ordered a chicken plate (can't remember the name) which was delicious and my friend ordered a crepe. I wasn't so excited for the crepe. It was lacking something, but I'm not educated about crepes. I would recommend this place to a vegan or a meat eater.

I reeeeeally wanted to like this place... - Edit
I was pretty excited to try this place because I had heard such good things, but I gotta say I definitely wasnt impressed. Maybe its because I am not very familiar with French food, who knows...🤷♀️ I had one of the savory crepes and the filling was super thicky and almost too creamy/cheesy. I only ate half and gave my husband the rest. My husband had the mushroom steak with fries that he enjoyed. For dessert, we had the macaroons which were pretty tasty.
