GO HERE - Edit
This restaurant is exactly what you pray it is - amazing French vegan food. Honestly, it was so hard to pick what to get. The waiter suggested Escargot and Coq Au Vin. Of course, he said he could only one favorite. It has been so long since I had proper French food. I could have cried. Come here!! 🥹❤️

What an experience! - Edit
I have never seen a French vegan restaurant with such an ambitious menu! The menu had so many options it was hard to choose what to eat. For an appetizer, we ordered the escargot (made from mushrooms) and the cheese plate. These were probably the best part of our meal. The entrees we ordered were the seitan duck and the steak tartare. We were not as impressed with the entrees as we were with the apps. The seitan duck came with peas and carrots. The peas were a tad too salty. The steak tartare tasted like it was an uncooked beyond burger that was mushed you with beets and veggies. It was ok. The worst part of the meal was the dessert. We ordered the chocolate mousse, which was not great. The menu did not indicate it had citrus, but there was a heavy citrus flavor to the mousse that was off-putting. Perhaps some might like this, but without adequate warning on the menu, it wasn’t good.
Read moreWhile this review does not sound like a good one, I would still like to return for another visit to try more items on the menu. It was really refreshing and inspiring to see the restauranteur try to make French food more accessible to vegans. I would definitely go back.

When we were in Paris, we went to a vegan French restaurant. This place is so much better. Delicious food and great service. Make a reservation, because it is a very small place

Bon Appetit! - Edit
What a pleasant and delicious surprise! We have gone to many Vegan restaurants in Florida and a few in NYC as well but NONE of them come up to the level of Delice and Sarrasin. The chef is a master of spice and texture! Each dish was expertly prepared and presented.. Our only regret is that we forgot to order the crème brulee! Next time for sure!!!!

Delicious - Edit
This was quite an experience. It felt French first and vegan second. Very romantic night at this tiny place. I will definitely be back. My husband got the coc au vin and I got the “duck” with mustard and tarragon. Both were to die for. My only suggestion would be for them to get a larger wine list with some nicer options (I would be willing to pay more) and some nicer glasses. Not bad wine, but not great, and when I have a meal that good I want something great to pair with it and the glassware makes a difference, too. But I can’t wait to go back.

Wow - Edit
This restaurant blows my mind every time I go. Without a doubt the best vegan French restaurant in New York. The truffle fries and “cheese” plate are incredible and I would recommend to anyone going! The restaurant itself is a sight to see and very cozy. It’s a little French paradise right on Christopher street!

Brunch! - Edit
So many delicious options, the cheeses were fantastic! And they have gluten free options marked making it easier for a person in our party. I loved the vibe and that they stayed true to a specific type of cuisine (French), not just generic "vegan." A great experience out for brunch with friends.

Pretty Bad Service. Ok Food - Edit
I was actually kind of disappointed in this place after being hyped from all the reviews! Most things were good but not great and definitely not worth the huge expense. We got the cheese plate which was very unique! But it was 4 very tiny pieces of cashew based cheese and 3 slices of bread cut in half.. very hard to swallow the $20 price point. The St. Raphael savory crepe was amazing!! But the La Jade was actually so gross that we only took a few bites and just left the rest on the plate. rip $15. So it’s pretty hit or miss. Would maybe go back and give it another chance for just dessert or a croissant. Just beware of the service. We were pretty much ignored the whole time. Finally took our order after 10 mins or so. Coffee took another 10-15 mins even though it was only us and one other couple there. Was another long wait for the check at the end. It’s the European style I guess to take awhile dining, but they definitely could’ve been more perceptive of us staring at them with closed menus or empty plates.

Vegan French food? Wow! - Edit
This place has managed to do what I thought would be impossible - serve up vegan versions of all the French classics. The escargots were so good that I am now somewhat obsessed with replicating them at home. The vegan steak tartare was exceptional as well. Very cozy atmosphere and great service too.

Oily food, bad service - Edit
Tiny restaurant, was really loud when we were there, truffle fries were inedible. You couldn’t even tell that once upon a time they might have been a potato. Onion soup delicious. Had the mr. seguin crime and the vegan cheese they used was also incredibly oily and there was too much agave to offset the savory nature of the crepe. Wish I could have loved it more as this restaurant concept is cool, but nope!

100% French VEGAN Food - Edit
100% vegan French restaurant with incredible vegan savory and sweet crepes and a plethora of authentic French dishes!
Read moreFood****
I enjoyed nearly all the food on the table minus my plate ( Vegan Steak Tartare). I used to eat steak tartare when I was younger and really enjoyed the taste but since this was not similar to what I used to eat when I was non-vegan it had a peculiar taste. I definitely recommend trying the Vegan Tournedos Rossini (incredible and so delicious), Plateau de Fromage Vegetale, La Lolotte, and Ratatouille--these dishes definitely made up for mine and I would certainly go back and order any of these! Portion sizes are definitely adequate as well!
Service***
Service was quick but I felt personality was lacking in both waiters that served us and one waiter spilled all my fries on the table and just said "oh well". The other waiter was very nice and accommodating to our table. I'm not giving this less stars because that waiter could have just had a bad day!
Atmosphere****
Small but cute and comfortable, which is typically difficult for restaurants to pull off but Delice and Sarassin does with effective lighting and seat spacing!
Price$$$
Over $15 per Dish and sometimes in the 20s and even 30s for certain Dishes but worth it!

Decadent! - Edit
We stopped here for lunch during a cruise port visit to NYC. Although on the pricey side, where can you find vegan French food!? We really enjoyed everything we tried – French onion soup, the Verrine de Saumon, the “beef” Bourguignon. The dessert crepes were amazing. I thought it was odd that they named their dishes after the animal product version (e.g. foie gras) as in some ways that is unappealing to a vegan diner. All in all, it was a decadent treat to dine here!
