food was tasty, but no vegan menu and definite rip-off - Edit
When I think back, I get really sad and also upset concerning our evening at Delilah's. We downloaded the online menus and were delighted to see there was a separate vegan menu on their website (one of us wanted vegan food). We thought, great, at least we don't have to ask for each and every single dish if this can be made vegan or not. So, in spite of the restaurant being quite pricey, we booked a table for 7:30, which was the latest option. We hurried to get there in time, and when we arrived, we were told that all tables were taken and we have to wait until one is ready. We had to wait for over half an hour (we would have preferred to arrive at 8pm instead), then we saw that the menu handed out was entirely different from the one online, we asked for the separate vegan one, but there was none. The waitress said she could tell us which of the dishes could be made vegan on request, but there was nothing for us to look at. So we ordered our food and our drinks, and my husband had to wait for ages for his drink, until the waitress finally came and said the problem was that the beer he ordered was not in the fridge (they noticed this after 30 minutes?), and if he wanted a different one. He said yes, because he was very thirsty, and when the substitute beer came, it did not seem to have been in a fridge either. Whatever. The food came, it was quite tasty, and then when we wanted to pay, I was a bit surprised about the final bill because it appeared more than I anticipated, but we didn't get a separate list of what costs what... and, as somebody else already criticised, we had the option of adding 15-25 % to the bill. When we got home later, we actually received the invoice via e-mail, and NOW we saw that all the dishes AND the drinks were actually more expensive than stated on the menu, which explained the higher sum! This added to the disappointment. We would have excused the waiting time, but not the rip-off. Disappointing enough that the menu we had pre-approved was not the one available in the restaurant, but to pay more than was stated on the menu that we saw in the restaurant felt unfair. This was the only night we went out for a meal in Lochinver (we stayed for a full week), and we picked the restaurant carefully, but apparently, it was the wrong choice. At least we liked our food and the waitresses were friendly.

Lovely little bay side restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Dedicated vegan menu much appreciated and a pleasant surprise this far out. Had the wild mushroom linguini and aubergine bulgur wheat dish which were both delightful. On the slightly fancier and pricier side but worth it!

Lovely to find a separate vegan menu in this part of the world with a good variety of options (see picture, May 2025). The mushroom linguini and Spinach and sweet potato masala were both delicious. Relaxed atmosphere and very friendly team.
