Keep Calm and Eat Papusas - Edit
What a delight! Outdoor seating with sangria and Latin music. Good vibes! Has a lot of vegan options and we tried the empanadas and the combination plate with papusas, tamal, rice and beans. All vegan options clearly marked. My favorite was the vinegar-based coleslaw — I asked for more and put it on everything.

Excellent vegan/vegetarian pupusas - Edit
El tamarindo has the best Vegetarian/Vegan pupusas in the DMV. Always do Uber eats from here and if you go down to Adam’s Morgan it is a lovely place to eat in person as well.

Innovative and Unique Vegan Options - Edit
I ordered the special DC Vegan Week menu for delivery. I was sharing with a friend, so we ordered one of each dish. Everything was delicious! I'm so impressed with how an omni restaurant is able to come up with filling and tasty vegan dishes. The chile relleno filled with jackfruit, plantains, and other deliciousness was a particular highlight. Definitely will be a go-to in the future!

they have vegan horchata, jackfruit chicharron, and other vegan fillings you can add to a vegan cheese pupusa (beans, loroco, spinach). very good food, and they also had other vegan options like quesedillas, chilaques, tacos, and empanadas.

Very Vegan Friendly - great covered outdoor seating with heaters - Edit
We went to El Tamarindo because it did a special menu for DC Veg Restaurant Week, but discovered that the regular menu is very vegan friendly as well. I got jackfruit tacos which were very good and a special vegan ceviche appetizer which was delicious. They have a very large outdoor seating space that is covered and has heaters. Also, the outdoor seating is dog friendly - the waiter brought water for the dog. Good online reservation system too.

Meatless Monday is A+ - Edit
Check out their meatless vegan Monday menu. Papusas, beer battered avocado tacos, enchiladas, quesadillas, etc. Delicious! Service was meh but I wasn’t in a rush. Good outdoor seating options for covid-safe visits.
