GO HERE

Amazing vegan food, particularly the sushi! The volcano roll was soo good. Reminiscent of when I used to (pre-vegan) have spicy tuna avocado rolls. Simply Amazing! Would absolutely go back!

Pros: Amazing food, Great service , Phenomenal sushi

Good for a quick bite or a romantic outing

The two gentleman were so kind and accommodating to us. The ambience was inviting too. Actually everything on the menu looked amazing with unique teas, Korean pancakes, and 'duck baos'. We got the Malaysian fried rice, Date tea and plum tea (which i highly recommend) and the Korean pancakes. I hope you find this little gem in Midtown Manhattan.

Favorite Vegan Sushi

This is my favorite restaurant for vegan sushi! Their other dishes are very good too, particularly the jjajangmyeon. This is a good place to go when you are looking for a casual meal in a comfortable setting. The décor is very nice as well.

Pros: best vegan sushi in the city, beautiful ceiling, great vegan versions of Korean food

Cons: a little on the pricier side, but typical for NYC, some may not feel comfortable dining solo here

One of my favorite spots in NYC!

I’ve been coming to NYC for years now but this is at the top of my list. Not only did I have the best cup of tea of my life (seriously) but the food was filling, full of flavor, and hearty.

Must try: the green plum tea! I split a cup with a friend and am already craving it again. It has flavor like I’ve never tasted before.

Service was great, the atmosphere was cozy, and I got a noodle ish soup with tofu, tofu skin, vegan meat, and coconut broth. 11/10!! #Veganuary

Absolutely Superb

This is my third time eating at Franchia. Each time the experience has been simply outstanding. The food is prepared to perfection.

For New Year’s Eve we started with the black sesame porridge, which is a slightly sweet black soup with a thick consistency. The subtle sesame flavoring was delicious. The porridge was followed by a rainbow roll and steamed kimchi dumplings, both of which were outstanding. The scallion pancakes were loaded with vegetables and was significantly more tasteful than your normal scallion pancakes.

For the main course, we ordered the spicy Franchia noodles and the sizzling Bulgogi, the ladder made with Seitan, vegetables and myriad mushrooms. #Veganuary

Great place!

I’ve been to Franchia countless times over the years. It is a place that you’re not ashamed to bring your non-vegan friends to - the ambience is awesome and the food is good. I’ve brought several non-vegan friends here and they liked it a lot. The menu has quite a lot of variety - from a gluten-free section to sushi, noodles, bibimbap and other rice dishes, mock meats and veggie dishes, plenty of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, tea and desserts. I eat mostly WFPB and sos-free, and the dishes here are never exceedingly salty or oily like at many other restaurants.

Great choices

We loved the scallion pancakes and spicy cauliflower. Lots of tofu dishes as well as plant-based “chicken” and other protein sources.

Underwhelming

Sadly was underwhelmed by the flavors/taste of the various dishes that we ordered. Really wanted to love it, but did not meet our expectations. Staff was friendly and service was good, but food fell short.

Big Fan. My non-vegan friend loved it.

Lots of great options to choose from, some standard and some unique. The variety with the lunch special is my favorite.

Truly wonderful

I ate here on my birthday at my friend's recommendation and definitely did not regret it! Although it was a little on the expensive side for my (sad Portuguese min wage) wallet the quality of the food was really worth it. We got a variety of the dishes to share and everything was delicious. We went during lunch hour and it was full of people but since it has multiple floors the atmosphere remained relaxed and the staff were very attentive. If I'm in NYC again I will definitely make a point to go here!

Pros: Fully vegan menu, Friendly staff, Calm atmosphere

Delicious pan- Asian food

Firstly, the restaurant decor is utterly beautiful and very well curated. Staff were lovely, attentive and very helpful. We shared three starters and had a pudding each, which was plenty food between the two of us. I particularly liked the stuffed mushrooms. They also offer a large variety of Asian drinks (Thai teas etc) which was great. Absolutely recommended if you're in the area.

Pros: Amazing staff , Restaurant decor

Cute and delicious

This is a cute little café/restaurant at a main street. It was almost empty when we arrived. Maybe a hidden gem? (Doubt it though.)
The food was great, we really enjoyed it. And the prices appeared to be average for good food in New York. Which is to say it's a bit pricey. As is everything. I had the stuffed mushrooms, the sizzling bulgogi plate and the tiramisu.
The only thing I will criticise is their tiramisu. Instead of ladyfingers, espresso and cream it was a base maybe made from nuts with two layers of (vegan) cream on top - espresso at the bottom and cream at the top. I enjoyed it but it's no "real" tiramisu.
However, that didn't diminish our experience and we highly suggest you give this place a try!

Pros: Ambience, Delicious food , Kind staff

Cons: Tiramisu
