Decent vegan options

There are about two small plates that are vegan and some side dishes that are vegan also and one pudding. Lovely interiors and friendly staff. Had the corn cake, broccoli and tofu: all nice! Will come back again!

Pros: Fresh food , Tasty, Enough choice

Cons: One more vegan small plate

Few vegan options

The restaurant is very light, bright and airy with tables upstairs and down. There's also a cocktail lounge upstairs. We came for supper. Sadly there's not many vegan options. They have 14 tapas options on the menu of which 2 are vegan & 2 vegetarian. The only other vegan option is a Korean fried tofu 'burger' with kimchi slaw and fries with skins on.

I ordered a lime & sofa to go alongside my tofu burger. The 'burger' was nice enough, being three 1cm thick slices of tofu on a sourdough bun. It was filling but I couldn't help thinking some salad or something with a bit of colour on the plate wouldn't have gone a miss. It was decidedly average. Sadly there were no vegan desserts and they didn't have any plant based milks available for hot drinks either.

I won't return & can't recommend it to other vegans either, there's just too little choice and to not have plant based milks for coffee after a meal in this day & age is a big no no in my opinion.

Amazing Food, Could Do With More Options.

They serve phenomenal food at Freckled Angel. I had the only two vegan lunch options available, and they were outstanding. They run a small plates and a salad/sandwich menu over lunch, but unfortunately, there are no vegan options available on the latter.

The vegan small plates were Korean Fried Tofu with Kimchi Slaw and Stuffed Mushroom with Cashew Crumble, and they were perfectly cooked and well flavoured. There was one vegan dessert available a Coconut Panna Cotta with Roast Pinapple.

I feel bad for giving a 3 star rating as the food is certainly worthy of 5 stars, but there is a severe lack of vegan options on offer. I certainly intend to dine here again and recommend vegans do visit to try the vegan dishes that I enjoyed.

Vegan Burger added to menu as of April 2024.
