Small relaxing garden - Edit
We tried this little place to have a break from the hot spicy Nepalese food, and it was really surprising: the garden is hidden in a secondary street, away from the chaos of Thamel, portions are huge and quite filling, everything is freshly prepared. They are specialised in galettes, which are crepes made with buckwheat flour, that can be prepared with savoury or sweet fillings. I tried the vegan roll, which was quite big, tasty, crispy, filled with tomato sauce, spinach, hummus, grilled aubergines, grilled tofu, grilled oyster mushrooms. We also had some french fries, very crispy during our wait for our rolls. They also have the typical nepali dishes (mo:mo, dhal bhat, pakora, in their vegan versions). They also serve fresh salads and fruit juices stating that they wash vegetables in mineral water with salt and vinegar. Actually I didn’t try fresh vegetables to avoid any sickness, but many Happy Cow users write that they had fresh salads without any issue.

Would give 5 stars if I could! - Edit
One of my favourite places to eat in Thamel, the veg/vegan brunch is amazing and as someone that is gluten free I really appreciate the buckwheat pancakes!
Read moreIt's down a little alley and round the corner, so not the easiest to find but definitely worth it.. and once you have found it it's relatively peaceful (for Thamel).
All the staff are lovely and there is always someone who speaks good English. Highly recommended!
p.s. for those that are wary of salad I have eaten salad here countless times and never been sick.
Pros: Great food, Friendly staff , Peaceful environment

Below average. - Edit
Depressing unkempt environment. Food nothing to write home about, I ate 50% of my mostly soggy ‘crepe’. Smokers. Dreary.

Unfortunate mix up - Edit
Nice garden setting, very quiet off the main road. The vegan galette was light and tasty. Unfortunately there was a mix up and the waiter gave me cheese veg momos instead of just veg momos. I ate one before realising, which was disappointing. It would have been great if not for this.

Lovely little place - Edit
I visited for a late breakfast. Ended up having the gallete. Noted as vegan on the menu but they clarified that it was made with olive oil instead of butter or ghee. Lots of options available for vegans and vegetarians. Lovely little space down an ally set back from the busy city

Cons: More difficult to find, On the more expensive side

Definitely worth seeking out - Edit
This super-lovely little place is down a little back alley but it’s a beautiful garden oasis with lots of plants and a great, relaxed vibe.
Read moreThere’s plenty of veg and vegan options - the buckwheat galettes are vegan and can be done savory - with a generous filling of mushrooms, tofu and vegies - or sweet with sugar/honey and lemon.
Must be one of the most delicious vegan breakfast/lunch options in the city!

Backpackers Breakfast - Edit
We’ve only been to French Creperie and Bar for breakfast, but we love their Backpackers Breakfast. It’s excellent value at just 290 Rupees (Oct 2019) and really tasty and filling; you get a baguette with hummus, garlic roasted spinach, and salad, with a coffee included in the price.

Cons: Not fully veggie or vegan
