Freshest is a bright, cheery little ice cream shop across the parking lot facing Sprouts on Callaghan @ I-10.

They've been open less than a year and proudly display an award they recently won for best local ice cream!
Deep, vibrant colors in those ice cream tubs thanks to the rich natural hues of the freshest fruits in each. YUMMO!!
Over half the case is clearly-labeled vegan offerings. Simple, clean all natural recipes with few ingredients. And you can taste every single flavor before choosing. Yes!
Fruit flavors are more like sorbet ... light and so fresh! Coconut chia and chocolate almond flavors were creamier than the fruity, sorbet-type flavors. Not dense or heavy at all. Light and delicate.
I'm sorry to say that their wonderful sounding flavors ... mango (!!!) ... coffee (!!!) ... and others are dairy-based. Maybe they'll eventually switch to all vegan! They wouldn't be the first in town to do that. (hint, hint...) :-)
You can choose up to three flavors in the larger dish. Yeah! Hubs had strawberry, kiwi (his favorite) and coconut chia. Mine was strawberry, chocolate almond and... Brazilian!! (My favorite!!) We each tasted the coconut chia with the chocolate almond... mmmmm!!!
'Brazilian' was originally a drink they offered. Then they made it into another sorbet. Now, it's become their best seller!! Sooo ... what flavor is it?? Pineapple mint...!! Oh my!! Yes, as fabulous as it sounds.
Freshest is the creation of a friendly, young couple from South America. They brought their family's recipes to share with us! Her family has been serving these frozen homemade treats at the counters of their own shops in her native Colombia for at least 25 years. He is Brazilian ... and together, they are just adorable!!
Vegan choices aren't new, he said. It's just what her family has always made. Obviously, popular at home.
They also serve fresh juices, slushies, and even frappes. And fresh, made-to-order fruit salads.
Their signature 'oatmeal' drink will be mine on my next visit. They described it as rich, cinnamon-y orchata, which I will LOVE!

Went there for the first time and fell in love with the ice cream! New Watermelon flavor was totally delicious and all their ice cream is extremely smooth. My non-vegan son loved it. It’s our new favorite ice cream place. I highly recommend you checking it out. You will not be disappointed.

Amazing Ice Cream for Cheap - Edit
I've always gotten my ice cream from Creamistry (too expensive) or Earth Burger (too sugary), but this place is the best in between. It's a bit cheaper while still being healthy.
Read moreThey don't add sugar to their ice creams and the owner was super informative, nice, and allowed me to try every vegan flavor before ordering. They only have vegan flavors made with coconut milk and fruit usually or they have vegetarian/dairy free only ice cream made with milk that doesn't contain lactose.
If only they could make the non-vegan flavor vegan, I'd be in heaven! They did have a really great chocolate almond vegan flavor tho!!
