one of my favourites - Edit
Over the course of a month long US trip, we went to over 30 different vegan spots (restaurants / cafes / bakeries) and this one stands out to me as one of my favourite stops. The space is so nice, art on the walls, really inviting and warm with plants, loved it.
Read moreWe went at lunchtime on a week day, and ordered the crunch wrap and rice bowl that came with acorn squash, Brussels, shishito peppers and sauce. The bowl was plated nice, really amazing flavours. The Krunch Rap was also really good. Food came quickly, the staff were super kind. Space is clean, really loved the vibe, it felt very calming. They also had some baked treats and I think many were raw, but we were stuffed from lunch and didn’t try any.
Pros: nice vibe, friendly , taste great, large portions

Nothing tastes as good as healthy. - Edit
I can’t believe I’ve never been here before. They say they’ve been here next to Green for 5 years. I’ve never noticed it. Glad I found it. Nothing fried. Nothing highly processed. Just healthy.

I love this place and have been here several times over the years. Last time I ordered one of the wraps and I was super impressed by the hand cooked wraps that are gluten free as well. Thank you!

They do not care about allergies - Edit
NUT ALLERGIES BEWARE I am severely allergic to cashews and I ordered a matcha with oatmilk, didn’t find out until later that they make their oatmilk with cashews… absolutely ridiculous to not make that clear on the menu. I had a horrible reaction and I don’t think they have changed the menu since.

Cute place, nice vibe, friendly people - Edit
I came here at 5 pm on a Thursday, so it was pretty empty. The staff were friendly and easy to talk with. The vibe is very laid back, music is good. I had the Buddha bowl, which was delish and very filling. Taking the rest to eat later

I wanted to love the nachos but… - Edit
I wanted to love the nachos but the chips were small and overly thick/crunchy. Toppings were good, service was great, I just did not like the nacho chips. The blueberry cheesecake was yummy! There is so much from which to choose- I will be back when in Phoenix!

Amazing - Edit
I LOVE Giving Tree. Phoenix is really lacking in healthy vegan food but Giving Tree delivers!
Read moreI actually went vegan because of this place. I ate here for the first time and was reading one of the books they had and had sort of a spiritual awakening… after that I never ate meat again, and went full vegan shortly afterwards!
Since then I’ve been many times. I love the nachos, quesadilla, jackfruit sliders, Dave’s bowl, smashed potato’s, turmeric cauliflower.. the jackfruit birria is great too! And their deserts omg. Rose cardamom pie is amazing, as well as the choco pie. I always feel so great when I leave, like I did something good for my body!! Rare feeling after leaving a restaurant here bc most are so greasy.

Oh Happy Day! - Edit
We were so excited to go to a WFPB vegan restaurant! We were not disappointed! We had a fantastic lunch! Took take out for tomorrows lunch and plan to go back Friday before we had home. Why can’t we have a restaurant like this at home! Thank you David for caring enough to feed us beautiful healthy delicious food!

tasty nourishing and healthy vegan cuisine - Edit
One of the culinary highlights on my recent trip to Phoenix from San Francisco was meeting up with my friend at Giving Tree Cafe. Giving Tree Cafe is 100 vegan and serves up tasty nourishing healthy plant strong cuisine. I am a longtime vegan. I enjoyed the food here and company with my friend very much.
Read moreAwesome ambiance here that includes some giant Shiva lingams on entrance and crystals. Friendly staff.
We shared the Sonoran Nachos that were very good. For my main I had the Buddha Bowl with half wild rice and half quinoa. It had the spot. Recommended!
My friend went with the Jalapeño Cheddar Mac & Cheese which he enjoyed. We shared the Rose Cardamom Cheese for dessert which was a raw vegan dessert that was amazing.
All in all recommended!
Pros: tasty, nourishing and healthy, Whole Food Plant Based cuisine

Great food and ambience - Edit
We went to this place as it was suggested by many vegans in Phoenix and we were surprised by how good the food was. It was absolutely delicious. The servers were very friendly. Great ambiance and the best part was they allowed our furry babies inside. When we visit Phoenix we will definitely go back here.

Time for treats! - Edit
We came here from out of town for some vegan desserts and they did not disappoint. We got basically every treat on their dessert menu and did some sharing. We also were gifted a butterfinger chocolate treat. Everything is vegan and unbelievably rich and delicious. The truffles were chilled and the oat milk was also made in house just like the rest of the kitchen. The staff was SO kind and helpful and fun. Not to mention how cute the place is. You can’t go wrong with a single choice from their desserts. Go!!

Needs something a little more - Edit
We got a thanksgiving day meal to go and while we were waiting for our to go order we got two of their house made dessert bars. Food is a little bland. I appreciate vegetable forward food but even then the flavor has to stand out and spices are a good thing

Sadly this business and food quality has declined. This is a very different business than a year ago. One example this week Oct 5,6,7 they didn’t allow indoor dining because they were short staffed.
Read moreThe food has been subpar they sold a to-go $18 tasteless, orange colored and soupy textured truffle mac and cheese.

Delicious Food Made In-House - Edit
I was a little bit confused when I came in as to how this place worked, and the person at the front didn’t really help me, but I figured it out on my own eventually. Every bit of the food tasted fresh and the person who brought it out to me was super friendly and delightful! I had the Big Maxx Krunch Rap and it was really good, the wrap itself was the highlight for me and it, along with everything else, tasted like it was made there. The sauce was also scrumptious. I also had a juice and it was perfect!

Vegan gumbo was a bit disappointing - Edit
First of all, it's good to see a vegan restaurant with a good variety. I hadn't had gumbo in a long time, and especially seeing that okra and jackfruit were the first two ingredients listed (love them both!), I was quite excited. Unfortunately, there was very little of either (in fact, just one piece of jackfruit) in the gumbo, and it really wasn't all that substantial (mostly rice and "broth"). The heat was good (lots of hot pepper), but that's about it (not a lot of other spice). I also tried their lentil pancakes--actually a good compliment to the gumbo and had some dosa-like qualities, except flat. They also serve a few condiments for $2 extra with the lentil pancakes. There's nice ambiance and good quick service (also, a few of their parking spaces were covered, though it was an unseasonably cool day--only 90 in June--when I went)--hopefully the other dishes are higher quality than the gumbo.
