If there is one thing I miss as a vegan it’s going out for breakfast. Golden West Cafe is a godsend in this regard. So many amazing options. I ordered off the special menu - biscuits and gravy with fried chicken and hash browns. So good! I had some time to kill so after digesting a bit I enjoyed a delicious vegan whoopie pie for dessert. I wish I lived closer but will definitely be back when in the area.

Golden West is a treasure. Such an extensive menu, tasty meals, inviting space, and friendly staff. I've had the seitan BLT and peanut noodle salad. So good. Live music last Fridays are good fun. Only thing somewhat off is the presence of cow skulls and tortoise shells as "art"; doesn't line up with the vegan choices on the menu.

This place can be absolutely great, they have tons of vegan options, really good vegan desserts, AMAZING vegan milkshakes, BUT you have to double check with the staff that everything they give you is vegan. We ordered entirely vegan dishes and then asked to add the “chorizo” to our dish (they had a special makes vegan chorizo) and the waitresses gave us the non-vegan chorizo. We discovered this about half way through our meal and she was not apologetic about it at all. So, great options but be careful.

This restaurant has many delicious-sounding vegan dishes, and others that can be made vegan. I ordered the chick’n and waffles but subbed the chick’n with cauliflower wings cause I really wanted to try their cauli. They had no problem subbing and did not charge extra for it. The hot honay was the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. The waffle was nice and fluffy but also toasty. I also ordered the biscuits which were amazing 🤤🤤 (I might be asking for much, but I thought the jam would be homemade 🤷🏻♀️). The latte was so very good and a very generous portion . All in all the food was very tasty, the portions are very generous, and it’s perfect for brunch 😏.

Many vegan dedicated options on menu, see pictures. Others can be made vegan. What I like most about these places is the tolerance of others and the joy orioles get making others happy. My server was great and willing to give me extra information answering my many questions. My companion an omnivore had HUEVOS MOTULEÑOS while I had Vegan Buffalo Drummies and VEGAN CITRUS SHORT RIB BAHN MI. The dummies were enough for me and I to the Bahn Mi home. Both were very good. Can’t wait to go again.

We ordered the vegan supremo chick’n sandwich and the vegan buffalo unchicken sammy with waffle fries and garlic fries, respectively. The food was very tasty and came out in a timely manner. We were interested in trying a dessert, but the server immediately brought over our check after they cleared our dishes, so we decided to just head out.

This was my second time at Golden West and the food did not disappoint. We ordered the vegan bang bang "shrimp" appetizer, vegan nachos, and vegan hangover burger and all were delicious. My only complaint is that the service has been very slow and somewhat inattentive both times I've been here. That being said, I will definitely return to try more of the menu.

GW was one of my favorites back in the day. I ordered a vegan breakfast burrito and cauliflower wings and my friend ordered a green chili burger with fries. My burrito was too salty and her burger was was not salted at all. Also she had to share my green chili because it was missing from her burger. Burrito was massive but somehow seemed to be missing something. Fries and cauliflower were soggy. Overall disappointing. We have both loved GW in the past and will give them another try but probably never for carry out again.

I always struggle to find good options for breakfast/brunch in the Hampden/Charles Village area of Baltimore. This place has changed the game for me. They have a ton (>10) vegan options of traditional breakfast food and also Tex-Mex style cuisine in addition to great brunch cocktails. All reasonably priced for the area as well. I will definitely be returning. Highly recommend vegan buffalo chicken Caesar salad wrap and garlic fries.

Finding a great vegan brunch in the DMV isn't easy, but I'm glad I found Golden West. I'd estimate that half the menu (breakfast and lunch/dinner) is vegan or can be made vegan. Today, I had the vegan farm breakfast, which used scrambled JustEgg instead of chicken's eggs, with a choice of vegan sausage (we tried the Impossible Sausage, which had a decent flavor, but the texture could have been better), and hash browns. My boyfriend got the Hot "Honay" Chick'n (made with Little Fig vegan "chicken") and waffles, which came with a tangy agave syrup (the so-called "honay") and regular maple syrup, and that was delicious. The texture of the "chick'n" was perfect, not too tough, and not mushy.

This place is amazing for vegan food. They have many staple vegan options on the menu. Every weekend, they also have specials that are FIRE. Cauliflower wings are an all time favorite of mine. I've never had any dish that wasn't great here. They also have great cocktails that change often. Their vegan desserts from Vegan Treats and Little Fig Bakeshop are a must try!

Biggest turn off was the fact that there is a lot of taxidermy AKA dead animals on the walls of Golden West Cafe. That aside, we shared the vegan breakfast burrito & the vegan hot & honey chik'n and waffles with locally made Little Fig vegan chicken. Both dishes were amazing and flavorful. Coffee was some of the best we've ever had.

We came here before the theater and we’re glad we did. We started with two appetizers: the Buffalo cauliflower and the teriyaki Brussels Sprouts. They would have made a substantial meal for one. Then, my Daniel had a vegan burrito bowl and I had the spring chicken sandwich with fries, totally vegan. Loved every bit of it, down to the cocktails. Look forward to going back.
