nice little cafe

I ordered the half portion of the vegetable sampler (~¥800) and it was filling. Almost couldn't eat the brownie a la mode and chai afterward. Menu in English & pictures. Friendly staff who could communicate with me in English. From the map on HC, it seems the shop is on the side street but it faces the main road.

Pros: everything is vegan, menu in English , delicious local food.

Cons: dishes do sell out, small cafe, limited seating

Best vegan joint in Japan!!

We're so glad we came across this place..pretty much everything there has sesame in it which is amazing!!..even our 1 year old son had the best feed..such clean food that was really filling and the staff were beautiful..will definitely have to go back there before we leave.

Pros: Healthy, good size portions, Reasonably priced, Original menu

Sesame Lovers Rejoice!

We stopped by Gomacro for a late-ish lunch before we were able to check into our hotel.

Unfortunately the large set menu was sold out so we both opted for the Noodle Set which came with salad plus a drink and small dessert for a little extra. You get a little mortar and pestle full of sesame seeds to grind yourself to add to the main meal, a super cute touch!

The pasta was full of fresh vegetables and super tasty, the salad was simple but delicious too. I also had an iced sesame chai which was perfect. I had the dessert platter which came with a nut tart, brownie and ice cream, all equally tasty.

Staff are very friendly and know some limited English. We are terrible at Japanese and got along just fine!

Can't wait to get back here before I leave!

Pros: All vegan!, Interesting menu, Lovely staff

Nice restaurant cum cafe

Visited for lunch. Limited options described in the website with limited portion of the main dish. So, can get over if you go late. Had the white curry. Food was filling and delicious. Price was a bit high. Close to 1450 JPY with taxes.
Had a few tables and sofas with counter seating.
Would recommend to visit if other nearby restaurants are closed as they would probably give better bang for your buck but say on sundays when others are closed, could be a possible option.

Pros: Nice ambience, Good service, Good food

Cons: Moderately expensive, Limited numberof main dish

So glad we stumbled on this place

This is a small cafe with lovely food. I ordered the curry set menu meal. This comes with a small salad, curry then dessert with a tea/coffee. It was delicious, plenty of food. Nice atmosphere, staff were happy, pleasant and very helpful. Thay have an open kitchen so u can more or less watch as they prepare. There is also a small deli and shop area to buy sauces, cakes, etc. at the entrance. A wonderful start to my kyoto experience
