Beautiful place to relax - Edit
Booked a last minute deal for a great price. Cosy traditional cottage in a peaceful and relaxing setting. Easy to find, up a little lane backing onto a churchyard with trees all around. An ideal spot from which to explore Pembrokeshire, well situated between Newport and Cardigan. Immaculate throughout and pet-friendly so we were able to take our well behaved cat who settled right in.
Read moreWe visited during one of the 2025 heatwaves, so didn’t need the lounge log burner and kept the beautiful Rayburn on minimum, though it was perfectly set for baking potatoes and warming bread (and a heat-seeking cat!). Hopefully, we’ll return in the winter so will take advantage of these then.
Very well equipped kitchen, amazing what you can fit into the space. Toaster, coffee maker, kettle, microwave, worktop hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer and supplies of various teas, coffee pods, oat milk minis, vegan cleaning products. Also, a vegan welcome pack which appears to vary, but ours was posh chocolate, salted popcorn, kimchi, local coffee and kitty treats.
Handheld and overhead shower in the downstairs bathroom, with Myddfai products in place. Very comfy king-size bed in the attic space with a separate and ample dressing area.
Plenty of seating in the lounge and reception/dining areas, lots of lovely space to spend time, inside and also in the peaceful private garden surrounded by trees and busy with butterflies and squirrels. Cottage immaculate throughout.
Convenient parking space right next to the cottage with an outside tap to clean off dirty boots or sand. Good Wi-Fi connection and owner very responsive. There doesn’t appear to be a grocery shop within short walking distance, so we brought some bits and then shopped in the places we visited for bread and goodies.
Thought has clearly gone into Gorllan’s presentation and it was a pleasure to stay there.
Pros: Pet-friendly, Cozy and traditional, but comfortable, Peaceful

Cute and cosy and fabulous location! - Edit
Incredibly cosy cottage, well located for exploring North Pembrokeshire. But, if you just wanted somewhere quiet to stay, maybe do some writing or just for some peace, Gorllan would be perfect.
Read moreI forgot to take pictures until our last day, so keep in mind it looks nicer than my photos!
We spent time exploring Newport and Newport Sands, Cardigan, Fishport and we spent a couple of days touring the local Cromlechs (neolithic structures and burial chambers) in the area. Amazing to know there's places older than Stonehenge so close by! There's also interesting Abbey remains at St Dogmaels and an impressive castle at Cilgerran. Most places are free to enter and local car parking charges are very reasonable - most around £1 an hour.
The cottage is right behind the village church, but don't worry about bells - they were only rung once over our week's stay, on Sunday morning and not until 9.30am.
We visited in summer so didn't use the woodburning stove in the living room, but I absolutely loved the range in the dining room. It was very easy to use and so lovely to come down to warmth in the morning! Also nice to know our dog would have a comfy temperature overnight.
The front door opens into the dining room where there was a lovely basket of vegan goodies awaiting us! After a day's exploring, we came back to this lovely, quiet place to read and relax. We slept so well in the extremely comfortable bed. We also appreciated the chair in the dressing area outside the bedroom - somewhere quiet to have a read when one of us was awake before the other!
Gorllan is definitely worth booking for your next trip to West Wales.
Pros: Quiet but easy to find, Friendly, helpful vegan owners, Very comfortable and cosy
Cons: We should have booked 2 weeks!
