Yummy bowls! - Edit
I had the sushi bowl with tofu and it was fire! It comes with a sriracha Mayo so I asked to sub the sesame dressing instead to make it vegan. Appeared that most menu items were easily made vegan and tofu is one of the items you can add. Nice casual environment.

Could be better - Edit
Cute spot, though their vegan options are lacking. The food was pretty much just avocado toast and salads. There’s better coffee a block away at Communal Cafe. Heartwood Eatery has the potential to be great if improves or expands their vegan options. As it is, not very exciting.

Not worth it. Expensive and pretentious. - Edit
If you’d like to spend $17 on a bowl that’s 3/4 arugula, go here. And for 4 bites of tofu, add $4. The miso soup was all long, stringy kale and NO tofu. Oh, and tasted NOTHING like miso soup. Add some rude service. Seriously couldn’t understand why this place was so busy. Not worth it.

delicious, wish there were more straight vegan dishes - Edit
Fun vibe, deliciously fresh food…just wish there were more dishes on the menu that are fully veg as is. Sushi bowl is yummy (sub in a delicious house dressing to make it vegan). Vegan caesar salad is also good. Overall sweet spot.

Healthy, hearty vegan options - Edit
There are several vegan as-is items, like the Vegan Kale Caesar and the avocado toast, and a ton of the items on the menu can be vegan by ordering them with tofu as the protein, or with olive oil in place of butter. The avocado toast here is half the price of what it is in other places in town. Has a whole menu of hot cafe drinks including coffee, tea, and more. Has hippy energy in a good way!

Would eat there everyday if I could - Edit
This place has the most delicious, nourishing food in Nevada city. Everything tastes fresh and good quality. They have lots of options and cater to different dietary restrictions. Nice vibe - a little pricey.

Best GF Avocado Toast Yet - Edit
Staff is knowledgeable on dietary restrictions and options, are friendly too. Bakes their own GF bread and sometimes has personal loafs for sale. Locally sourced organic ingredients. Lots of coffee and chai options too.
