The quality of the dishes is outstanding, also the drinks menu is quite extended. Changing menu.

Good vegan food in a nice place - Edit
They made very nice progress in service and it seemed that almost everything is vegan.
Read moreIt was only possible to book from 6 people at Het Strand, so I thought we would be good for the three of us on Saturday evening at 6pm.
When we arrived, there were people inside, now there were not too many people, there were still a lot of places available, now they all seemed to be booked.
The staff didn't even watch us, and we had to talk and find our own place to sit (some people left after 10 minutes of us walking inside).
It took another 30 minutes before a waiter came to us and took our order, suggesting only for the drinks, now we were more then ready to order for everything after that time.
For dessert and invoice, we returned to the counter to be served.
The service is extremely poor, it seems that they are victims of their success.
While we were inside, it didn't stop with people coming to look for a place.
The place is very pleasant, the atmosphere is excellent, the majority of food is vegan and is really very good.
So, very fency place in Leuven, to go with at least 6, so you can book, be sure to have time and you will spend a wonderful time.

Great food, relaxed place ... and now all vegan! - Edit
Update: The menu is now all vegan, making it even more relaxed for vegans to take their pick from the frequently changing menu. It's still a bit hard to take a pick because everything looks and is tasty ;)

The food offered is very tasty and for a large part vegan, however this was not clearly advertised on the menu written on the blackboard inside. This time all the food for diner turned out to be vegan, however not sure whether this is always the case.
Food for diner consists of 5-6 mains (e.g. vegan burger, bulgur salad, moussaka, ...) not expensive at all (between 12-14 euros). Also several vegan desserts on the menu as vegan starters (delicious seitan sausages this time, the 'witte pens' is great).
Also the drinks offer is good with some organic wines, beers and stuff like Fritz Cola, ...

Vegan eetmenu & chocoladetaart, gratis kraanwater en omringd door planten! - Edit
Wat te zeggen over deze plek. Ik had m'n twijfels omdat Het Strand als 'vegetarisch' gerankt staat en ik betreed zelf liever plekken die 100% vegan zijn. Wat blijkt? Hun hele eetmenu is veganistisch!
Read moreHet is enkel bij de drankjes dat sommige drankjes nog vegetarisch zijn. Zo kan je hier bv. op aanvraag nog koemelk krijgen. Dat gezegd zijnde, héél lekker eten, gratis kan kraanwater mét ijs (niet altijd gemakkelijk te krijgen in België), overheerlijke vegan chocoladetaart met stukjes chocolade en stukjes zout ( denk ik? ). Dat zout had ik niet verwacht, maar werkt eigenlijk perfect en geeft een leuke tint aan de klassieke brownieachtige chocoladetaart. Voorts lijken ze hier ook wat het interieur en bestek betreft erg begaan te zijn met het nemen van ecologische verantwoordelijkheid. Heb hier vooral hout, staal, keramiek en glas gezien, en de binnenruimte is ruim, hoog plafond, tafels ver van elkaar, en toch bezaaid met kamerplanten! Echt heel gezellig. Wij hebben hier luidop gediscussieerd over klimaatverandering, racisme en Extinction Rebellion en geen moment gevoeld dat we te luid waren of dergelijke. Het personeel ook heel klantvriendelijk, en de prijs was slechts 20€ voor lunch voor 2 personen mét dessert. Ze houden hier tot slot ook op een efficiënte manier rekening met de covid19-maatregelen, en de eetporties zijn naar mijn mening perfect goed (niet te groot, niet te klein). Hier kom ik zeker terug!

Great combo with a film at Cinema ZED - Edit
Great place to eat before seeing a film in the cinema downstairs. The food is very tasty and there's also vegan cake. I like that they serve more than the standard options for drinks.
Read moreIt can take a while before someone takes your order and it sometimes takes long before being served. If you have dinner before your film, make sure to be on time.

Nice concept and atmosphere - Edit
Nice place with a authentic decor. The food is okay, they only offer vegetarian and vegan lunches/dinners. It's a pitty though that you sometimes get lot's of food and other times less. The service could be better since they tend to have new employees all of the time that are kind of slow and don't notice you. Although, they have an all you can eat brunch buffet every now and then on sunday, which is very nice and tasty. Would recommend this place when you're in town!

Great food - Edit
I went with an omni friend. We went at 6PM and although the terras was full, we still had enough available tables inside. It was nice atmosphere: the menu was displayed on a large blackboard, the tables were old school desks. The food was to die for. And even my omni friend loved her burger!

Delicious food and nice atmosphere - Edit
Me and my boyfriend visited this place on a trip to Leuven and loved it. It’s awesome! The food is so delicious, and everything on the menu (5 mains soup snacks desserts) was vegan! We had the risotto and burgers and both were equally good. The potato wedges which came with the burger were excellent. We also tried their Italian seitan sausage bread, which was very nice along our beers. For dessert, we both took a piece of coconut-peanut-chocolate cake, which turned out to be delicious and huge. They offer an extensive collection of beers and other drinks in a nice setting. Plus it’s cool they have many board games available for you to play. Hope to be back soon!

Great food and great atmosphere!!! - Edit
Sooo good!!! Highly recommended! We ate here yesterday with 6 friends (I’m the only vegan in the group), we had 3 different dishes (everything vegan) and everybody really enjoyed their food!! It was very busy, we had to wait a little bit that was no problem, it’s a very nice bar as well! Very cosy, full of plants. So after the food we stayed for some more drinks. :).
