AWFUL schnitzel - Edit
I really wish that I had read the reviews here before going, to know that the leberkäse looks worth ordering, as the schnitzel I ordered was simply abominable. I should have taken a photo, but it was so plain and unappetising that it deserved one only to illustrate the horror, wish I hoped never to relive.
Read moreFor the essential effect, call to mind the most unremarkable fried and breaded veggie patty imaginable, the kind they sell by the dozen in the freezer aisle for a few dollars. You get two of those and half a plate of freezer fries. That’s it. A lemon for garnish and flavour. No sauce for this dry and chewy misery, nothing to add any pretence of flavour to the dish. I was so sorely disappointed I almost forgot how awful the service was to begin with (and they refuse to serve tap water without ordering another drink, it’s worth noting). Looking at the reviews of other photos I almost want to go back to try another dish. Almost.

Surprising vegan Bavarian dishes - Edit
When this place was suggested for a meet-up, I was quite reluctant to go. But what a pleasant surprise! Several clearly labelled vegan options were available, such as Currywurst or Leberkäse.
Read moreI will never be a fan of Bavarian "Wirtshauskultur" and will never like touristic places like this, but finding (tasty) vegan options here is certainly a plus.

Great Vegan Leberkäse, Good Variety of Vegan Options - Edit
I was so pleasantly surprised to find vegan Leberkäse (also as a Burger, highly recommend that one), Schnitzel and Currywurst substitutes in a southern German kitchen that were also so incredibly delicious.
