Jam Delish-ous

Jam Delish is a standout, fully vegan, Caribbean restaurant that impresses on multiple fronts. The wine selection is exceptional, featuring some of the best reds I've ever tasted. Their fried chicken with mash and gravy is an absolute delight, offering a rich, satisfying taste that truly stands out. The saltfish is bursting with flavour, showcasing their mastery of Caribbean cuisine. The ambience is perfect for a romantic date or a luxurious lunch with friends, making it an ideal spot for any occasion. Highly recommended for both the quality of the food and the overall dining experience.

Pros: Great wine selection , Delicious food, Fully Vegan

Cons: Expensive

Amazing

One of the best vegan restaurants I ever visited. Went there with a non vegan friend who loved the food as well. We tried several of the small plates and sides plus two of the big plates, none of them was disappointing, each of them was a culinary delight. Everything was perfect, food, atmosphere, waiter. Will definitely come back next time I’m in London

Told that the service charge is not fully shared amongst the staff

1* (well, if I could - but I have to give 2*) because I was told by my server that the service charge is not fully shared amongst the staff like literally every other vegan restaurant I've ever been to in London, but is retained by the restaurant instead. You can - and should - ask for the legally-always-optional service charge to be removed and then tip your server on the card machine or in cash instead.

We were given the above information by our server when I asked what happened to the service charge before we paid the bill. Our server was tremendously grateful when we offered to replace the service charge with a tip. The business has since disputed what we were both told at the time in a very aggressive reply that you can see below this review, denying what we were both told by the business at the time, and that none of the service charge is retained. I strongly encourage you to read the wording of this reply below.

As for the rest of the it:

Like others have said, upon arrival at our booking time we had to wait at the bar to be seated. Our drinks arrived half an hour after ordering, after our starters.

Food: the bajan codfish tacos were a big win for us both. The bacon mac and cheese was spot-on. The saltfish sushi was nice, though I didn't get any fishiness. The curry goat was in a tasty sauce, though the fake meat was a bit weird and the fried plantain was just two small slices. We had planned to share the curry goat, and we had asked for it to be served with the chillis on the side as my friend couldn't take much spice on the day - instead, it was served with extra chillis mixed in, making it inedible to my friend. We mentioned this to our server but nothing was done to rectify it. The grilled roti was oily and disappointing. The banana cake with all the trimmings was overall enjoyable - although the cake itself was a little too dense like vegan cakes from a decade ago, and my omni friend wasn't a fan of the ice cream - though I enjoyed it.

But the whole thing was a huge let-down when I asked what happened to the service charge. And the multiple personal attacks on me since, accusing me of defamation when I had merely stated in my review what the representative of the business had told us both at the time, are frankly unnecessary and distasteful. The business had my contact details from the reservation, they could instead have calmly contacted me to discuss my grievance, and corrected the information they had previously supplied.

Cons: Told service charge not fully distributed to staff

Hi Kennyp353 or Kenton Thanks again for posting another defamatory review. This is your 3rd one now, you obviously enjoy posting complete lies about our business. WE DO NOT KEEP ANY OF THE SERVICE CHARGE! IT IS PAID TO OUR WONDERFUL TEAM, apart from our GM and our Assistant manager, who served you. He stated to you that he does not get service charge, as he chose to have a much higher wage., but as he also told you, you can tip him directly or not pay the service charge. You have been told this 3 times now, but you still keep posting these lies. What you are posting is defamatory to our business and our reputation, as you know, which is why your sad self, keeps posting these lies. I also don't appreciate the personal attack on my employee, calling him mealy -mouthed. So again i have had to waste my time replying to your lies, but go on knock yourself out, and keep posting. You obviously have something missing in your life, as after being told 3 times we do not keep any of the service charge, you still keep posting these lies. And yes, please do not return, as after the personal attack on my employee, you would not be welcome back, chow!

Love this place!

Amazing food! I can't wait to go back. The jerk skewers were the perfect level of spicy, the sauces and pomegranate countered the spiciness very well. The roti was flaky and flavorful

Pros: The food, The decor, The location

Great vegan Jamaican food

I first visited when they were a pop-up in a pub in Soho a few years ago, so now they have their own premises I wanted to go back and see if the food was as good as I remembered. My only regret is that I didn’t have more time and couldn’t try more of the menu, because there’s so much on there that looks really appealing. Will definitely have to go back to try more dishes in the future. The dishes I did try were very well presented and full of flavour.

The only negative is that when I was seated I was told that they needed the table back after an hour and 45 mins. I wasn’t planning on staying so long anyway and I really don’t like the way it has crept into being the norm to give diners a deadline to leave by, it seems impolite.

My first real taste of the Caribbean yum!

Loved the atmosphere, staff and most of all food. As a life long veggie / vegan later I'd never had goat curry or salted cod so was a good experience as well as very tasty! My Jamacian omni friend said it was very similar and lush. I'd def go again, but order less or go hungrier as was a lot of food.

Pros: Vegan, Yum carribean, Good portions for money

Complex Flavours and Textures

Super food. I had the 'fish', scotch bonnet and rice. The texture and flavour of each was unique but worked well together.

Great menu of Caribbean food. I had the Caribbean 'chicken' which came with garlic mash, beans and the most delicious cabbage I have ever had by miles. Fantastic cocktails too. Lovely atmosphere and staff.

Really great food, portions could be bigger

On a lot of things jam delish delivers exactly as you would hope. Great flavors, interesting dishes on the menu, and a cool atmosphere. Chicken skewers were phenomenal!

Two misses that would make this into more a 4.5 if I had the option, is that the portions feel just on the small side(with exception of the dessert which was huge!). Also I recommend you to skip the mango salad completely, it was flavorless and disappointing

Perfect!

One of my favorite restaurants in London. The chick*n skewers were my favorite, but everything we ordered was super flavorful. The environment is also really nice, a little more fancy than usual vegan restaurants. If you like Caribbean food, you have to try it!

Pros: Many options , Kind staff, Amazing environment

We had to wait about 20 mins after our booking time to be seating which was slightly annoying but the service was brill and food was delicious. Wish we’d had time to try a dessert.

Caribbean soulfood

There is a lot to choose on the menu. I had fried ‘chicken’ with Jamacian gravy with seasonal greens and bbq jerk plantain fries as a side dish. It all tasted very good. And banana cake as dessert. Nice vibe in the restaurant and friendly staff.

Fingerlicking good

What an interesting place. We passed by two times, because first our reservation didnt go through so make sure to check.
With the tinted windows it seems like it was closed. Also indoors it gives a bit of a weird vibe, on this sunny day it seemed like it was going to rain. The interior is fancy I suppose but not fully with a messy bar piece in the middle of the room and messy open cupboards.
The man at the door who checks the booking was not friendly at all. Luckily the other staff were okay.

We had 2 smalls and large plates. Namely the eggplant and the fish tacos. Followed by the oxtail and goat dish. We ordered the seasonal greens on the side, which was an amazing delicate cabage and okra dish. The names are not appealing but the dishes make up for that.
All dishes were very tasty. Flavour texture and presentation were on point. Some dishes had quite some spice, but never overpowering. Only the eggplant small dish was not fully cooked and a bit chewy but the toppics compensated for that. The size of the dishes were ideal, maybe even on the large side.
Would order all of these again and looking forward to try more dishes on the menu.

Lives up to its name!

Overall, we enjoyed our meal here. They were out of the 'goats' curry, so I ordered the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and confit cabbage. We also ordered the callaloo fritters with rice and jerk 'fish'. Dessert was mini doughnuts with Guinness chocolate sauce. I didn't like these as much as the whole-wheat used made them quite dense.

But yes, the food was delish. I would have liked a less heavy texture with the chicken and a thicker gravy, but otherwise it was enjoyable. The callaloo fritters could have used more seasoning. I found the prices steep for the main dishes, but the whole menu is quite interesting and a refreshing take on Jamaican food that you normally don't find. 4.5

Wow, wow, wow

This was absolutely revolutionary. Incredibly delicious and flavourful food. We did the early bird menu and got 2 courses each, sharing a starter and a dessert. We got the pork belly tacos, fried chicken, goat curry and carnivals and it was so delicious. We also got a drink each and the bill still came out as less than £70 after tips! It was the best meal we had in London hands down. You must try it! We had a reservation and it was so busy you definitely need one!

Pros: Everything!!

Lovely Birthday Treat

I went here for my birthday. I was advised booking. We had an early booking at 6pm on a Weds but by the time we left the whole restaurant was packed. Very promising for a Weds in February!
The food was really nice. I had the oxtail stew and my friend had the curry goat. I would have loved to have seen some ackee or breadfruit on the menu too and a hot drinks list would have been nice.

Great vegan restaurant

It’s a lovely restaurant with a nice vibe. The food was on the expensive side but also quite yummy. So I feel it was worth it.
We got unlucky and had a very loud group of girls next to us that I could hear crystal clear even with my earplugs in. I wish the staff would have told them in a polite way that they are being very loud.

Pros: Food , Interior design, Friendly staff

Cons: Pricey

A unique experience

Had the pork belly tacos and chicken skewers - unique taste on the products which I enjoyed.

Also tried my boyfriend’s Caribbean Chicken & Gravy which was also lovely.

Cocktails also on point

The staff did seem to have a bit of a fixation on the table needing to be available again after 2 hours - understandable but might be an idea to mention when there’s half an hour left rather than making it a stress point before we sat down
