Temple lodging in the mountains near Mt. Fuji. Mostly vegan except egg and fish sauce in a few dishes. Half board (dinner and breakfast) is included with the room and can be made fully vegan upon request.

Unbelievable experience - Edit
A delightful temple lodging that offers dinner and breakfast along with an already affordable room. I found Kakurinbo on Booking.com where they clearly indicate the possibility of vegetarian or vegan meals. Meals are served while you face out to the 14th-century Zen garden, and the food comes out in waves of small dishes. It’s already mostly vegetarian with some fish broth and egg, but they have vegan alternatives. Let them know you’re vegan while booking and confirm upon checking in, and they’ll readily accommodate.

Just mouth-watering. Other highlights included fresh soy cheese, vegetable tempura, rice wrapped in a sakura leaf, soy soft serve with fresh fruit sauces. And you can also join the Buddhist monks for early morning prayer at the nearby temple complex, which was another profound experience. Overall an amazing stay that I can't recommend highly enough!
