comfort food - Edit
it was really nice to eat here after a long day. i ordered the soy meat sandwich and fries, which is unfortunately all i had room for because they have some seriously appealing stuff on the menu. i want to come back and try the pancakes, matcha cream toast, or really everything else

Delicious Exciting Options 🌱 - Edit
I can’t believe I haven’t visited here sooner! It’s absolutely gorgeous with so many options to choose from, welcoming and a warm atmosphere, and lovely staff. It’s great to see a fully vegan Komeda coffee as this is a popular Japanese coffee chain.

I ordered a lot and the waitress teased me if it was enough, hah!

Read moreWe ordered a burger (wh was bigger than palm size) and a soy cutlet sandwich and had to pack the leftovers home 😅. Hope Komeda opens more vegan outlets or provide vegan options at their other outlets too!

Eco-conscious vegan spot with Euro-Western influence - Edit
Pancakes, sandwiches, burgers, pizza-type dishes, but all with a slightly Japanese twist. You won’t find your typical Japanese cuisine here, but all the food here seems relatively healthy with a bit of European and Western influence. I especially love that the restaurant itself cares about its ecological impact. We got the vegan “pork” sandwich, croquettes, milkshakes and coffees. All good.

The best brunch experience so far - Edit
This place has it all - large menu with various food and drink combinations, fresh salads and smoothies, breakfast, lunch and dinner options, beautiful interior and incredibly friendly staff.
Read moreThe soy katsu sando was by far the most delicious thing we’ve tried so far in Japanese restaurants. It was thick and crispy, but perfectly chewable. The same goes for their mixed-sandwich plate, which is served with a side of fresh salad (and salad dressing) and crispy fries. Also their toast, served as very soft and thick lightly toasted bread, paired beautifully with vegan cream cheese. Red fruit smoothie was very refreshing.
The pancakes were airy, soft and fluffy, topped with vegan whipped cream and fresh fruit, which paired well with their special blend of komeda coffee to round it all up.
10/10 experience and we will definetly visit again to try the rest of their menu.

One-of-a-kind vegan spot - Edit
Wonderful, laid-back cafe with an easy ordering system and retro feel. The menu features Japanese diner favorites that feel familiar to a Western audience. We visited several times and everything we got was delicious. We definitely ordered too much food (portions are big) but we always finished everything.

Absolutely phenomenal - Edit
I LOVED this place. The vibe was immaculate. Quiet jazz cafe in busy Tokyo. Large toast comes with all drinks, so beware! The sandwich was so good, the donut thing was fine, a bit much for breakfast. But mostly, I just really like the vibe and toast. Excited to go back. Great hours.

The only vegan Komeida in Japan! - Edit
Komeida is one of the most “Japanesey” cafes in Japan, but the owner is quite progressive I think! This all-vegan version of the cafe is wholly unique and quite unprecedented! He also promotes EV ownership as some of the cafes have EV chargers (not this one slap bang in the middle of Ginza tho).
Read moreEverything on the menu is vegan and there are SO MANY choices!! This store knows that 99% of the customers are non Japanese, allowing you to order via a tablet completely in English.
The “bouncy pancakes” are made with rice flour and come with soy whipped cream and maple syrup. Very light and tasty!
I need to come back here 50 more times 😂
Pros: One of one. You need to go!, Spoilt for choice, Fully English menu
Cons: No negatives. Just go already!

So good we went back for more the next day! - Edit
It was the last two days of our 3-week Japan trip and we were running out of options for vegan dining near our hotel. We decided on this place for dinner one night since we had tried most of the other all-vegan restaurants around already. It was an order at your table style restaurant with an iPad-like tablet. The menu was pretty extensive and we were happy to see that everything was vegan.
Read moreOn our first visit for dinner, we ordered the AvoTeri burger and the Tartar Wasabi burger to share, along with a side order of Fritters and potatoes. The Fritters and potatoes arrived first and they fries were nothing special. The fritters were interesting, not in a bad way. When our burgers arrived, we noticed there were fries on the plate as well. Had we known this, we probably would have ordered a different side so as not to have so many fries. The Tartar Wasabi burger was reminiscent of a fish sandwich and it was GOOD! The AvoTeri burger was also very good. The teriyaki sauce was not too overpowering and the subtle avocado flavor was distinguishable. The patty on the AvoTeri was also very "beef"-like, so it really did resemble a burger. The buns were super soft, also. We really enjoyed the meal and decided it could be on our visit again list, if we ever returned to Tokyo.
So the next day after coffee, we were trying to figure out where to go for lunch. After remembering the meal the previous evening and how extensive the menu was at KOMEDA is, we decided to return. Our second visit, we ordered the Miso Cheese burger and the Soy Ham Cutlet Sandwich to share and a Fried soymeat with sauce on the side. Again, the burger was very good. The sandwich was okay. The cutlet was very reminiscent of spam and the sauce on the fried soymeat was pretty strong. We again enjoyed the meal, but I think I'd advise ordering the burgers over anything else.
This restaurant is located in what appeared to be some type of event space. Service was very prompt, friendly and efficient. Everything is done with the tablet and there is a "summon staff" button to have someone come over if there are questions. Even after dining and going to pay, there is a machine that actually collects the money if paying in cash. This might be standard at some places in Japan, but I had never encountered it before.
Easy 5-star rating for an extensive menu and good food!
Pros: Efficient, friendly service, Great food, Extensive menu

Nice open restaurant with lots of seating, no queue when we went at lunch time on a Friday. We got the Soy cultet sandwich and the curry burger. Both very good taste. Curry burger tasted like a katsu curry which was nice.
