Delicious - Edit
So many delicious vegan options! I loved all their dosa, chutneys and sambar. I was only sad that they didn’t have vegan coffee.

Very nice Indian food - Edit
The food wasn’t spicy. I got asked if I could handle spicy food but it was still not that much. So maybe ask extra spicy if you want that. Its not too expensive, but one dosa wasn’t enough for me. But the people are very nice and the food is great.

Huge choice of tasty food - Edit
Was a bit apprehensive after the mixed reviews, but was pleasantly surprised. Very friendly service which helped us navigate their enormous menu. All vegan items are clearly marked. They have so much stuff to choose from! We had spicy cauliflower which was recoomended by the waiter, and it was indeed super good. The masala dosa and small bites we had were also very good. The food arrived within just a few minutes. I saw some people complain about the prices, but I think between 7-14euro for a main dish in a restaurant in The Hague is pretty fair. Will definately go again.

Bit smaller menu, more focus. Food is even better than before, though I would opt for the South Indian dishes. Also don’t order a ton of snacks as a starter. South Indian vegan thali is great and it’s a steal al 16 euro. Most restaurants here charge way more for less good food.

Decent Indian food - Edit
Decent food, but too much and served ridiculously fast. The starter plates weren’t even empty when the man came. The place is brightly lit and noisy, go here for a quick meal not for a cozy night out.

Great indish food, good choice - Edit
We came for an early dinner. When we wanted to order 3 different dishes as starters, the owner advised us that this would be too much. So we chose only the chilli bajji and the mixed vegatable pakoda which was right and very delicous. As maincourses we had an Uttappam and Dal fry, both dishes were awesome. Even when the atmosphere isn't very cozy, the food and the service were great. There are plenty vegan choices on the menu. When again in Den Haag, we 'll be back for another taste.

Like in India - Edit
I like it that it feels a bit like being in India. Not just the food, but also the metal plates, the mostly Indian customers and the separate room for couples in the back. Mysore Dosa of course

Amazing! Gotta go! - Edit
This place is amazing. Finally there’s a South Indian vegetarian restaurant! A lot of the food is vegan or can be made vegan. The staff is very helpful and understands veganism. We had the idli, masala dosa and bhindi. Everything was great: fresh, greatly spiced and not greasy. Affordable as well. We will definitely come back and recommend this place to everyone vegetarian, vegan or just loving South Indian food. The only comment is they don’t have brown rice (yet).

Rare hence worth a visit - Edit
One eyed in a land of the blind is the King is the apt description.
Read moreRecommended dishes: anything with Dosa. There appears to be a proper cook for this.
They often serve warmed up frozen Parattas in place of fresh (advertised) Chapattis. If asked, the servers get nasty.
Except one, almost all the staff need to be dealt with caution as they are aggressive. They have little knowledge of what they are serving and get very upset and start arguing when corrected.
During non Summer days, there is poor ventilation and the whole place has strong smells of food. Make sure to wash your sweaters and jackets after a visit. During summer days, their chutneys can be suspect (stale) due to improper storage.
It is unfortunate that there isn’t a choice. ( Saravana bhavan is not an option! Google saravana bhavan owner. It is tainted beyond pale.)

Could be so much better - Edit
I love Indian food, and it can be made vegan very easily. In this place, the staff doesn’t really know what vegan means (I got a cup of dairy yoghurt with my dish), and there is nothing marked on the menu. The taste of the food is great, although it is a bit expensive. Unfortunately I won’t be going back here because I don’t trust that what they say is vegan, really is vegan and not cooked with ghee for example..

Great for vegetarians - Edit
Great for vegetarians but not really for vegans.
Read moreI went here a first time and asked if the dosas were vegan. As the answer was yes, I ordered it (and it was supergreat !). But the second time I came, I asked the same question and the answer was that they use ghee to cook it.
Confusing...
However, all the dishes I tried were super nice.
Pros: tasty food, cheap
Cons: the staff don't know what is vegan or not

They started off great, but... - Edit
The original title of my review was " Finally!" and for the first few weeks I was extremely happy with this place. However, my recent visit was somewhat disappointing. I had Masala Dosa and Mini Idli. Both were far less tasty than during the first few weeks. Not sure what happened, but both tasted like they were prepared long ago and then just microwaved. Maybe I am wrong with that, but something has happened. The idli were totally tasteless including the sauce which was also far too thick. Still giving 4 stars, hoping they will get back to their original quality.

Finally The Hague got a South Indian veg restaurant. There are all the classics - dosa, idli, uttapam... you name it. And there is more. The menu is quite extensive with a lot of vegan options. The owner and the staff are knowledgeable about veganism (one staff member is a vegan himself). The food is authentic, very delicious and the staff friendly and helpful. I am happy they came to The Hague and I intend to become a regular customer. I do have the feeling I am not the only one!

Fine indeed - Edit
Our youngest daughter told us about this excellent, new veggie restaurant. Yes indeed, fine food and pleasant prices. We enjoyed a fine South Indian thali (meals) and an excellent dosa masala. There is a very restricted offering of wine (do not hesitate to ask them to show) and beer. Basic furnishing, friendly but a bit awkward staff. Their Internet site is not very enlightening but go and you will not be disappointed. When in The Hague, we surely will visit this restaurant again.
