Italian Food near Florence Central Station - Edit
Cozy Restaurant near the Station. It's quite big and busy, so a reservation is recommended! We had to wait outside for ~15 min before we could be seated. The menu is very large and has a lot of Vegan / Vegetarian options, but they aren't labeled, so check the ingredients or ask your waiter. I had the Pasta with Pomodoro and Peperoncino, which was lovely and only €8! Overall the food is very nice and quite a good deal.
Read moreThe only downside is that the wait was pretty long and the staff seem a bit disorganized. We waited 20 minutes for our drinks and a further 30 minutes for our food. They also forgot one of our items which had to be re-ordered. If you have a nice group to go with you won't mind the wait, but if not it could get annoying pretty quickly..

Hemos ido dos veces al restaurante durante nuestra estancia. Muy buena atención, comida exquisita (penne primavera, pizza marinara, patatas arrosto, y muchas más que hay). Son comidas sencillas, nada especial o queso vegano, pero están muy bien cocinados y con ingredientes de calidad, no se necesita nada más. El precio muy económico.

Tienen opciones veganas y el personal es muy amable, explica todo, atiende con mucha paciencia y te da la seguridad de que tu plato será vegan. Lo que pedí estaba rico y luego me pedí una pizza para llevar. Económico también. El espacio es bello y muy romano.

This place was so good! We feasted there for sure. The staff was happy to point out vegan options. Ordered the bruschetta, spaghetti carrettiera, and salad of tomato and radicchio. Everything was fresh. It was also open late, closes at midnight. Great for late night feast. Prices are low.

Served the vegetable pizza without vegetables, just plane dough with tomato sauce. I'd be embarrassed to serve anything like this at all. In addition needed a saw to cut the pizza, which got some olives, zucchini and eggplant slices when insisted they serve it with vegetables. spinach dish - just some boiled spinach without any taste. Absolutely terrible. and the so called vegan cheesecake others mentioned here, is not vegan at all so don't count on it. the pasta the kid ordered was rather hard, though he didn't complain. #Veganuary

A fantastic authentic Tuscan experience - Edit
La Grotta de Leo is a fabulous Tuscan restaurant. It is not a pure vegetarian restaurant but there is a lot of choice and is great if you are in a mixed group. I had the buffalo mozzarella salad and a spaghetti dish which were both amazing and my wife tells me the Fiorentina was really well done incase you have any omnivores in your group. The Tiramisu is also the best I've ever had and is definitely worth having. The waiting staff are attentive but it's definitely a relaxed pace dining experience and more casual than some high turnover city centre restaurants.
Read moreIn term of Vegan options, there seemed to be a few on the menu (mainly pasta dishes) and it seemed like the kind of place where they'd be happy to adapt a dish slightly (particularly if you have an Italian speaker in your group to help). They also make pizzas which looked good too. Just don't ask to change a whole dish because the Tuscans are quite proud of their food.

Hearty traditional food. Located in a side street close to the main part of the city. Staff speak some English and can assist with altering dishes to become vegan. Very reasonably priced. Had mushroom risotto and a side of beans in a tomato sauce.

This place offers so many options, you have to ask the staff though. Everyone here is so friendly and happy to help. They speak English, too, which makes it so easy to communicate. The food was absolutely incredible. Hands down, the best in the city.
