Yum!! We never get to have sammies!! - Edit
This was delish. We got the chicken pesto and the Californian. Chicken pesto was my fave, along with the queso and chips. The queso is more like that one cheez recipe, with cashews and potatos and carrots— you know that one? Aka delicious as heck. But more like that than queso. So happy to have gone here.

Tasty Food + Novel Concept - Edit
I really liked the idea of a plant-based butcher. I wish they had a shop like this near me. I had the “Messy Biscuit” and it was really tasty and well proportioned. The biscuit itself was nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The jalapeños gave it a nice boost of flavor spice, and overall it had a pleasant, not too heavy taste profile. Highly recommend.

Delicious, gourmet deli - Edit
Delicious sandwiches and sides, like a high-end deli. The pastrami French dip is mind-blowing and the egg salad sandwich is the best I've had, vegan or otherwise. Love the potato salad and the strawberry lemonade is delicious. Lots of baked treats , too. This place is such a gem.

Maciel’s was high on my list of places to try and it did not disappoint. Had the Reuben, it was delicious, wish I could have eaten three or four other sandwiches - I’ll be back for them.

Very impressed - Edit
Get The Flores! It’s one of my favorite sandwiches in LA.
Read moreAs for the deli items, I’ve only gotten the bacon and the queso so far, but they’re both good. I don’t even like vegan meat most of the time, but the bacon has such a great flavor and gets nice and crispy. I used it to make the best BLTA I’ve had in years.

Honestly delightful - my husband had the juicy French Dip and I had the Tuscan. Both were fantastic with lots of flavor! And the ciabatta bread was divine.

Biscuit! - Edit
This was our first time trying a biscuit and the loaded breakfast biscuit was incredible! Very very impressed. The French dip sub was great to try as we have seen them all over LA but of course they haven’t been vegan. Pastrami was legit AF. Great range of take home options in the way of cheese and meats.

Awesome breakfast - Edit
My wife and I ordered Mariel’s through DoorDash for breakfast and were not disappointed. I had the breakfast burrito and cucumber mint agua fresca, she got the Messy Biscuit and cold brew with oat milk. I loved the sausage and potatoes in the burrito and the agua fresca was so refreshing. My wife loved the biscuit and it reminded her of the biscuits her family made when she little. Neither of us were fans of the cold brew, but we haven’t really found a cold brew we like so I don’t hold it against the restaurant. We also got the Reuben for later, but had to try it and it’s one of the best we’ve ever had. 10/10 would recommend.

Tried this place because I’ve had a Jimmy John’s itch for some time now, and I can’t stop eating here! The Italian and Californian are solid options but I imagine you can’t go wrong with other items.

5 star Reuben - Edit
I have eaten a lot of Reuben sandwiches and this might be the best. Succulent, with every element working together. The homemade pastrami was a dream. Everyone was really helpful and there is real attention to quality.

I returned another time for Tuscan sandwich (delicious) and the French dip, which I didn't like nearly as much. The jus was like gravy and I wasn't into it.
Pros: Homemade everything!, Great quality, nice space
Cons: didn't love the French dip

Can't Go Wrong - Edit
This place has it all! Breakfast offerings, sandwiches, salads, deli items and desserts. We ate here twice in a three day span and would go back again tomorrow if we weren't going back home. We had the breakfast burritos with Just Egg. Very tasty, had a little spicy kick, but the heat was just right. Our next meal was the Reuben and the Flores. Both were tasty and filling. Definitely recommend this place for those who eat a plant based diet, and for those who don't.

Loved going here. My Philly cheese steak sandwich needed more cheese but the potato leek soup was amazing and so was the potato salad! The egg salad was okay. I’ll definitely be coming back here to try other things!

Delicious deli sandwiches - Edit
All vegan deli with cold and warm sandwiches, an assortment of rotating sides, and a case of cold cuts, cheeses, etc.
Read moreThe Flores Mexican rib sandwich was phenomenal! Really well seasoned jackfruit ribs with pickled onions and arugula on ciabatta.
The Italian was pretty good, but the bread was disappointing. It tasted almost stale. I expected high quality bread from a deli.
We also tried the macaroni salad which was pretty good and a delicious hibiscus Agua Fresca. I would come back to try some of the other warm sandwiches.

The Flores Sandwich is life changing - Edit
It’s hard to describe my joy at eating the Flores sandwich. It’s a perfect dance between the tangy barbecue and creamy Mayo and excellent bread. Expertly prepared each time, too. Everything else on the menu is wonderful as well, but the Flores is spectacular. Don’t miss it.
