Great place for vegan Nasi Goreng - Edit

I went to Malay Malay because I really wanted to try Nasi Goreng. Though Malay Malay is a traditional Malaysian restaurant serving meat based dishes, they have an extensive vegan menu with really great options. I visited this restaurant twice and had the Nasi Goreng both times. Being someone who really enjoys fried rice, I really loved the Nasi Goreng here. I also tried the Roti Canai which was really good and I highly recommend. The ambience is really nice, it is incredibly tight and dining here is a social affair as you may rub elbows with the table next to you.

Service was alright, the second time I visited, they got my order wrong and served me fishy Nasi Goreng instead of the vegan one. I told the waiter and they swapped it out, though it took a while for them to get me the vegan one. Even though I had a bad experience the second time, I feel Malay Malay is a great place for someone who wants to try vegan Malaysian dishes.

It’s ok 2-3 wouldn’t go back - Edit

Extensive vegan menu and options using veggies, tofu or mock meat
Ordered black pepper tofu which was sizzling and hot and delicious
Eggplant with mock chicken was tasteless
It’s next to the Thai place I went a lot but deleted nearly all vegan options so tried this one instead
Chicken had a odd texture
Saw afterwards they had carb / lobster on the menu which is a big no for me
Staff very friendly
Taste rather bland
Nothing exciting
