Buena opción

Rico y no caro ☺️ Aunque había mucha gente, no tuvimos que esperar mucho para la comida.

Very good food in a modest restaurant

Update June 2023: Meal of the day now costs 12 soles. See the photo of the menu board I posted.
------------------

This restaurant is situated near two parks. The first is a lovely park right across the street with a children's play area. The other park is called Parque de la Reserva and it's a few blocks to the east (on Avenida Arequipa). There are all sorts of fountains and water shows going on (more atmosphere at night because of the lighting). The admission is only 4 soles, and there are 3 water shows nightly, except Monday.

But back to the restaurant.... They have the typical meal of the day, priced at either 7.5 soles or 9.5 soles. Nearly everybody seemed to be ordering the 7.5 (important... buy your ticket at the cash register before sitting down at a table). The day I went, the 7.5 meal had either a soup or a salad, and then 3 choices for the main plate. Although not haute cuisine, I found the food to be very good, especially when taking into account the price paid. You get a lot of food for the money. The 9.5 meal seemed to be more elaborate, and I would have ordered that if one of the choices had been more appealing than the 7.5 menu.

The restaurant is very busy, and you should arrive before 1230pm to get a table right away and have all the food choices available. Single diners share tables here, so don't be shy if all tables are taken.

The owner of this restaurant runs another by the same name closer to the historic center on Jr. Carabaya. This restaurant's neighborhood is more in a business area and it's filled with locals on their lunch hour.

Rico y económico

La primera vez que fuí quedé sorprendida porque a un precio cómodo, te ofrecían un menú bastante generoso, no servían poco. Además, tiene buena locación.

Pros: Precio, locación, cantidad

Another great Lima option

I went for their set lunch for S/. 8 on Saturday. I think it was after 3 pm and I was literally the last person to have a starter (salad or soup). There were still two options for the main. The food was very nice - just like in most basic veggie eateries here. Brown rice was a nice surprice.
Remember to pay before taking a seat!
