Go to for bio produce

This is a great place for organic quality produce and package free goods. They also focus on local and seasonal fresh ingredients. They had some special pink and yellow coeur de boeuf tomatoes which were very tasty.

Great 0 waste concept

As a vegan, this is where I would get most of my produce and food in general.
You can bring your own bags for the food in bulk and containers for the pate or spreads they have by the cheese section.
The fruits and veggies are seasonal. Not all is local but they state the origin if you prefer buying Belgian produce.
They also offer Olive oil, red and white wine in bulk and you can bring your own bottle.
It is less expensive than buying packaged. Weekdays are better to go since it is not as crowded.

Pros: 0 waste, convenient , fresh

Cons: crowded on weekends, no vegan baked pastry

great local bio market

Great market with local organic fruits and veggies. Therr are even boxes with dry fruits, nuts, rice, pasta, beans etc. where you can get all this things in a paper bag - you chose the amount of the food you buy. Organic cheese and meat is available there as well.

Key Brussels Store

Go there for vegetables and fruits. I think they have the cheapest organic+local fresh products of the city. And lots of choices too.
Same remark for bulk products: dry figs for 8,55 euros/kilo, cashews for 14,70/kilo, etc.
They also have cheeses, olives, wine, oil, breads and pastries, pasta, cookies, etc. (I repeat myself but the vegetables/fruits are the main reason to visit).
It’s always busy but there is a reason why! :)

Pros: cheap (for organic), Big space, Lots of local products

Cons: No soy or vegan products of the sort

The place to be

They manage to offer very cheap goods in the City center. Their fruits and veg are as local as possible. I mean, if you really want to buy bananas, they have some, but you'll find their range of belgian apples much more appealing...
Oh and bring empty bottles: they even sell bulk wine and olive oil...

Pros: bulk goods, nice building

Cons: crowded on weekends, not near the metro, sells meat
