Vegan Naan is a Win - Edit
All you can eat Indian lunch buffet that is vegetarian with vegan naan?? Yes!
Read moreMilan Nataraj is a local Indian chain that has a few locations on the westside. They're known for their lunch buffet (around ¥1400) which offers a variety of curries, salad, naan, and dessert. The best part really is their appropriately colored green vegan naan, something you don't see very much at a lot of Indian restaurants here in the States.
Quality of food was great on the day I visited. They prepared a curry using soy meat which was a nice touch, and even offer a vegan friendly version of their dessert upon request.
Ambiance wise - this place isn't as bright and open as their sister location up the street in Otemachi, but it still churns out an excellent array of food that I am definitely a fan of each time I return to Tokyo.
For the price and availability of vegan options, you can't neat Nataraj for a plant-based Indian meal in Tokyo.

Top notch garlic naan - Edit
It’s not easy to find vegan naan back home so this was a real treat. I ordered some chana masala to go with it which was also good. The tikka bites were a little funny in texture but the pickled onions it came with were delicious.

Is this place English friendly? Or would you need to know some simple Japanese?

This is less UK style oil curry, and more home-cooked ‘welcome to our monastery’ style cooking. Been twice: never blown me away but it is super satisfying.

Vegetarian/Vegan Indian Buffet!! - Edit
My daughter wanted Indian food for lunch and despite most Indian being pretty easy for us to find vegetarian options, we thought we’d try this place out because it had a vegetarian buffet. It is located close to the station and easily marked up on the third floor. Our unlimited (for 90-minutes) buffet had 4-curry options, naan, rice, salad, and rice pudding for ¥1280. It was fantastic. If you’re looking for spicy, this isn’t your place (even the one labeled very spicy was decidedly not), but it was all very flavorful. My favorite was the daal. We are as much as we could and plan to come back.

Everything was super spicy, but I chose option 1 of “spicy”. Maybe should have stuck with default options.

Good food, fast and pleasant service, though I felt that it missed that special something as well as being slightly expensive, hence four stars.

Great lunch buffet - Edit
They have a nice lunch buffet if you’re into Indian food. I’m super happy that they label the vegan food very clearly. The dessert was not vegan but it even had a sign which said that you could ask for a vegan dessert. Would recommend going here.

Not Normally a Fan of Indian Food, But... - Edit
...this place exceeded all of my expectations. Absolutely delicious options on a clearly labeled menu. The two appetizers (nataraj special and vegetable pakora), two mains (aloo gobi and nataraj palak), turmeric rice, and (vegan!) garlic naan we ordered were all excellent. What really topped my experience, though, was the soy milk mango lassi. I’m going to dream about that drink.

Cakes not what they used to be - Edit
They changed the recipes for their cakes. The carrot cake is not longer like it was before. It's quite soggy and moist and they've become really stingy with the amount of cream/ice cream that comes with it. What used to be closer to a scoop is now a tea spoon. I struggled to finish it.
Read moreTheir chai latte is good tho. I would do dessert elsewhere. Im sure their food is a-okay.
Pros: vegan desserts
