Nice spot! - Edit
We went there hungry, but not too hungry. I ordered the cabbage stew, which was with sauerkraut and some beans and the raspberry struklji. The stew came with two slices of bread and we're more filling than I thought. Therefore, I could only eat half of the struklji and my partner finished the other half. All good tasted very good (also the meat one of my partner), so we are planing to come back tomorrow

Amazing chocolate but savory not great - Edit
We had the vegan vegetable and chocolate dumplings and the quinoa salad. The quinoa was overcooked and the dressing ingredients - vinegar, oil, salt, pepper - was on the side. A bland experience. The vegetable dumplings were too mushy and just a big soft ball of..?? The chocolate dumpling was delicious though and I’d come again to get that😄

Delicious, authentic food - Edit
We got advised from our landlord to try out this place, and I'm glad we did! :)
Read moreIt's clearly marked what's vegan, and also for vegeterians, and it felt really slovenian. I've never had anything like it before, and I liked it!
It took a little while to get the food but it was worth waiting for it. For those who are non-vegan it's a lot of options, mostly sweet ones.

Pros: Easy to find vegan options, The taste!, The environment.
Cons: Not fast-food (if you're looking for that)

Delicious, affordable, authentic - Edit
I’d give this place 5 stars if I could! My (non veg) partner and I stopped by for a quick late lunch to go on our first day in Ljubljana. I got the vegetable option (which was asparagus that day). Absolutely incredible! He even liked my dumpling more than his and ordered the same one the next day. The second time I ordered a raspberry dumpling to try a sweet flavor - also delicious! Dumplings cost under €6 and are very filling, so they were perfect for the price especially in a very touristy area. It was nice to experience an authentic part of the cuisine that I haven’t seen in any other country. Must try if you are in Ljubljana!

I only needed a snack instead of a meal so a fruit dumpling was perfect. Friendly staff.

Dumpling experience - Edit
We wanted to try the local dumplings. They had 2 vegan options at the time. We tried the raspberry one. Quite tasty.
Note that even though the dumplings are already on display, it will take about 10 min to heat it. So take that into account of you are in a hurry. It was worth the wait though.
Pros: Inspiring building

Delicious chocolate dumplings! - Edit
The restaurant serves meat. However, the vegan dumpling I tried was very delicious and not expensive. There are only three vegan dumplings on the menu.

Must try in Ljubljana - Edit
I had the vegetable dumpling and it's definitely worth a try! It gets served with a breadcrumb-sauce. It's a little bit greasy, nevertheless the next day I got a second one because it's a nice, quick and filling snack!

We never had Slovenian dumplings so it was really interesting to taste! We had two sweet ones (one wasn’t on the menu but the staff knows what’s vegan).

Tasty Slovenian dumplings - Edit
We wanted to try some traditional Slovenian food. There were several vegan options (vegetable, plum, raspberry, blueberry, chocolate) available. We tried the vegetable, chocolate and blueberry dumplings. They come warmed up (which takes like 15 min) and some sauce poured over it. Everything was very tasty and filling.

Interesting but not convincing - Edit
They have three vegan dumplings - we tried the savoury, vegetable one. They took very long to warm it up, the waiters paid no attention to us, and the dumpling had a very mild/ slightly boring taste. Not bad, just unexciting. We wanted to try the chocolate one but after the waiters ignored us for another ten minutes, we gave up.

Never had a rolled dumpling before - Edit
Very clear vegan options and very knowledgeable staff. We sat outside with a vegetable soup and a rolled vegetable tofu dumpling, it felt very nice to be able to have local cuisine veganized without having to jump through hoops.

Nice daily menu - Edit
I had a daily menu option, pumpkin/chickpea curry. It was more like a soup, but very enjoyable. Ordered at 6pm while the daily lunch menu officially runs until 3pm.

Veganised local cuisine - Edit
Really enjoyed being able to try some vegan versions of local cuisine! They had a few options of both sweet and savoury. Very filling meal, €13.50 for the stew and dumpling.

Worth tasting - Edit
I tried the asparagus dumpling. It was quite tasty - like creamy, buttery toasted bread. I was happy with it and can recommend it. There were two other vegan flavours: chocolate and blueberry. The vegan dumplings were about €5.50, or €1 more than the non-vegan dumplings, and they looked a little smaller than the non-vegan dumplings. The restaurant offers take-away and has a large terrace if you want to have table service. I wish I’d tried the chocolate dumpling, but the asparagus dumpling was filling (and at over €10 for two it was a bit pricey for what you get).

Definitely try the chocolate one! - Edit
I went after a tour guide’s recommendation and was keen to try some traditional dumplings… a different version of “dumplings” than I had seen before. They were out of the mixed vegetable one so I got the asparagus one, even though I don’t love asparagus, so it is not surprising that it was only okay to me. The chocolate one, though, I loved! If you love squishy food like I do, you have to try it. Warm with melted chocolate poured on top… I want another!

Traditional - Edit
We stumbled upon this on accident and were later told on a walking tour this was a must try by our local guide. We ordered one chocolate, and one spinach dumpling. Honestly the spinach dumpling had no flavor. It kind of just tasted like plain tofu? The chocolate was delicious, not too sweet just right. I would totally recommend grabbing some coffee and the chocolate dumpling for a nice treat. It’s located RIGHT before their daily market so it was a fun breakfast spot watching everyone set up. By the time we were done eating we were able to walk all through the market.

I got the chocolate strudel. The taste was average. Other vegan options included vegetable strudel and blueberry one. The service was slow. Nice location by the river.

Vegan dumplings - Edit
Great to be able to try local cuisine with a vegan twist. Tried all three options - plum with cinnamon, chocolate and vegetable. All came with an accompanying sauce. The cinnamon was my favourite.
