Quaint little spot with vegan options - Edit
This quaint little spot is located directly across from the electric vehicle charging station at the library so we popped in for a quick snack while we charged . We enjoyed some really delicious potato and veggie chowder and they have also a hummus flatbread. Lots of different vegan milks as well.

Not Sufficiently Staffed - Edit
We were greeted after standing at the counter for a while, but after waiting 10 -15 minutes and still not able to order we left to continue on our trip to Hagerstown. Granted, it’s Sunday. Maybe you’ll have better luck on a weekday!

Only Labeled Vegan option was Soup… - Edit
So, upon walking in and my partner seeing only one labeled vegan option - which wasn’t an inspiring start - it was also mixed with the experience that we stood at the empty counter for 5 minutes, utilized their bathroom and then came back yet no one was there ready to attend… so we just walked out.

It would also be helpful to have someone close to the register, and if in the back, to be able to see the front via a Security Camera of sorts so they’re able to come out and attend to potential customers as they arrive.

Very vegan friendly - Edit
We stopped here by chance on our way back to DC from WVU, and we were pleasantly surprised. We asked the woman working about their vegan food options, and she was was very helpful. They made us the roasted veggie panini with hummus. They also had a vegan butternut squash soup, and they had a veggie burger, which they offered to make with hummus instead of cheese. They have almond, soy, coconut, and oat milk options, so you can choose your preference. I opted to get my latte iced because it looked like they used the same streamer for all milks including dairy. It wasn't the best food I've ever had, but I was really grateful to have options and a knowledgeable staff member who was happy to accommodate us.

Not many vegan options but the vegetarian options were on point. Their pumpkin spice latte is handmade (no syrup) and there were several vegan coffee options.

This week they have Indian specials so I tried the curry (vegan) and it was amazing! One of the best curry dishes I've ever had! Veggies in curry sauce with rice and a creamy cashew sauce on top. She said after this week they will usually have the Indian specials on Fridays. Other than that they have a vegan panini, flat bread pizza, soups and hummus, all of which sound good (I didn't try those). Great friendly service and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

Vegan Friendly and Allergy Understanding - Edit
The Mountain City Cafe is wonderful. They have vegan options every time I visit. The vegan tomato bisque is AMAZING!!!! More importantly, to me at least, is the owner understands allergies. If you let them know you have an allergy (dairy for me) they will take extra care when preparing your items. They offered me a latte once but when I said I had a casein allergy they said "better not then as we use the same unit for dairy milk". That was wonderful. The setting is very pleasant as well.
