Alternative paradise - Edit
This place, although located close to many business, is a paradise for alternative-minded people. It is in an artists' neighborhood and attracts many people with left-leaning opinions.
Read moreVery crowded during lunch and the day's special was out by the time we ordered, but there are enough other things to choose from.
The crowdedness has one big benefit: You get to talk to the people around you!
The food we had was really good. Absolutely recommended!
Update: I finally went back and was mildly disappointed this time. Staff were less friendly, probably due to the stress during the busy lunch hour, and the quiche I had wasn't that good. This can happen though, so I'll definitely be back in the future.
Update 2: I went back and had the vegan börek (or "vörek," as they like to call it) with a salad. If you didn't grow up on börek it's probably quite good, but don't expect it to taste anything like the real deal. The atmosphere here is still great.

Busy little haven in Hambug with great vibe - Edit
Small busy restaurant in middle if Hamburg. All food is vegan but they offer cows milk for drinks I tried to grab lunch on a Thursday at 12:30 and the line was out the door. Turned out to be glutenfree day on top of being a popular lunch spot. Would recommend to go early or after the lunch crowd. I returned on Friday morning for a drink and my husband had a amazing cookie. Great for hot drinks and snacks.

Cozy place with great coffee - Edit
Fell in love with the vibe they have going on here! The cafe is artsy and cozy, and with the sweetest staff. I had the hummus panini which was pretty average, but the coffee and chocolate chip cookies are TO DIE FOR!

Come for the coffee, stay for the vörek. - Edit
My cappuccino and my friend’s americano were both excellent. We ordered their vegan version of a börek for lunch and it was delicious and filling.

What an oasis! - Edit
You find this colorful oasis in the middle of a business district. I really enjoyed the day's dish for 7,50€ - a glass noodle salad with fresh vegetables, some seitan pieces and a peanut sauce.

Perfect - Edit
Went here twice. We had the lunch offer of the day, wrap, vörek, quiche and panini which was the best in my opinion, it tasted like a pizza. Also had cheesecake, cookies and really tasty coffee with oat milk. Would definitely visit again if I am ever in Hamburg.

Nice food, but... - Edit
This is an explicitly leftist place. Antifa stickers on the walls, leftist news papers in the corners, etc.
Read moreAdditionally, the service is, lets say, semifriendly at best.
Prices are okayish, €8.5 for a brunch platter without drink is okay, but far from really appropriate.

stylish - Edit
Design of lovable and inventive handmade hut/church furniture and cakes with new and individual recipes, not the most comfortable seats, but suitable for business, tourists, everyone. Comics and newspapers could be read, polite and well-known personality of the first kitchen ladies, nice music, fair price, strictly vegan and cool.

Lovely - Edit
Nasch is a cozy café with a homely boho atmosphere. The prices here are really really fair for what you get. Had a chat over coffee, tea, cake and a panini which came to roughly 9€. I love having the peace of mind knowing that everything's vegan and I don't have worry about the food.

Really Good - Edit
It was easy to find (right at the Gansemarkt U-Bahn Exit - you can see the little black and white sign with their illustrated logo on it as you climb out of the U-Bahn staircase at the Caffamacherreihe exit). It is one of those apartment flats turned café with a bit of artistic and socio-political flair; nothing fancy, just down to earth and comfortable. The women behind the counter were so friendly and patient despite them being very busy. They brought the food to the tables and checked on the customers to make sure that they were comfortable. They asked me if I had enjoyed the food and said that it pleased them when I replied "Yes". I had hummus freshly made and topped with sesame seeds, a nice spoonful of olive oil and accompanied by a warm toasted flatbread. When I ordered I thought it would be a snack sized portion due to the low price; however, it was enough to be eaten as a small lunch on its own. I then ordered Vorek (vegan Borek) and it was delicious! Everything was homemade. The hummus and Vorek together cost under 8 EUR - a cheap meal for Hamburg. Though, room was limited for the amount of (their very wide and diverse base of) clientele, it didn't seem to be much of a problem due the normality in European culture of sharing tables with strangers. It was a very nice experience and I hope to visit them again next time I'm in Hamburg.

Delicious lunch in cozy atmosphere - Edit
We were really hungry so we ordered two quiches with salad, a wrap and a vörek. The quiche was the winner of the day, with the wrap in a close second and the vörek coming in third taste wise. But all delicious.
