Unique and Great Flavors - Edit
We love Indian food and this place went up and beyond! If you are vegetarian -not vegan -I would recommend the Shaai Paneer. The chickpea Masala-vegan - was also was wonderful. Both added a unique flavor to Indian food

Overpriced place - Edit
We had lunch, but most dishes contain cow's milk. Two vegans could be only mixed veggie and lentil dhal. However dhal was like thin soup, and a small bowl. 13€ for a bowl of cooked vegetables is just too much. Also, no pickle or mango chutney, just some salsa looks like savoury sauce. Not like other Indian places, for example in the UK.

Made us wait then made us leave - Edit
Would have loved to eat here, it smelled really good. We didn’t have a reservation but they told us they would have a table for us in a hour. Wrote down a reservation with our name and made us leave and wait an hour. Came back and they said «the people ordered another bottle of wine so you can’t get the table after all». Sent us back out to find another place to eat, after waiting for an hour. Luckily we did, the people at Wrenkh close by made room for us, even though you usually have to make a reservation.

Deserves 5 stars but app wont allow! - Edit
Not vegan but has a vegetarian menu and will veganise a dish if you ask. Good understanding of what vegan means. I had a biryani and it was delicious. First time I have ever had a curry where the vegetables were not cooked to mush. All the veg was fresh and crunchy, had cashews and pomegranate in it too. Awesome food

Delicious Indian food, but.... - Edit
Nirvana is an Indian restaurant in the heart of Vienna. They serve a variety of different dishes, I went for one of their curries and it was indeed delicious. The combination of the flavours in the curry was balanced, medium-spicy actually does mean medium spicy and the fried rice was also delicious. The staff weren't directly unfriendly, they were helpful and informed, but the general vibe at the place was not too good, maybe because it was rather late and there were not too many guests. We only spent 2 days in Vienna so maybe we didn't get the feeling of prices, but it seemed rather expensive. But then again, it must be said that the flavours were fantastic!

amazing Indian food in the heart of Vienna! - Edit
gorgeous food, presentation and atmosphere. would've rated it 5 stars no doubt about it but because it serves meat I am not allowed! I find this extremely rude as this restaurant definitely deserves 5 stars!

Excellent Indian Food - Edit
As noted, this is not a vegetarian restaurant, but we had their vegetarian thali (plate) and it was some of the best Indian food I've ever had. The waitress was super-friendly and the atmosphere very pleasant at dinner time. The prices are a bit on the high side but overall, terrific choice at a great location.

Good food, okay service - Edit
Unable to get a table at the Hard Rock Cafe, we ended up at Nirvana, due to this very website. I liked how they explained the dips that came with the starters in detail, pointing out which were vegan and which were not. Getting a vegan main dish was no problem either and the food was very good.
Read moreThe only negative point concerned staff friendliness. There were two waiters there and while he was a real sweetheart, I couldn't help feeling like she was plain annoyed by everything. But, to be fair, she might just have had a bad day and everything else was great.
Pros: near city-center, good food
Cons: annoyed waitress
