Lovely Donuts and loads of options - Edit
I came for the donuts but wish I had stayed for a bagel too! They have a large variety of vegan donuts alongside bagel sandwiches and a drink menu. The pumpkin horchata was to die for.

Mostly vegan, ‘croissanty’ donuts - Edit
Awesome vegan donuts. Although not entirely vegan, Nomad has a wide selection. In fact, the majority of their roughly 15 to 18 donut selections are vegan. And I love that they mark the ones that are not vegan with a (NV) and all the rest are by default vegan. To me, the donuts are light and buttery like croissants. I got the vanilla birthday cake and the guava cream cheese. Both hit the spot. The one drawback was that most of the frosting of the guava cream cheese came off in the bag. But it still retained its flavor.
Read moreMy brother did not like his cinnamon sugar donut— took one bite and declared it too soft and eggy. That being said, he’s not one for sweets, and says that the bagels are the best in San Diego.
We arrived at 9:30 AM on Sunday, and both of our orders included one variety of donut that was taken from the display case as it sold out.
Pros: Majority vegan, Bagels too with lots of options
Cons: Ask for donuts not in bag if you want icing

So yummy we went twice - Edit
We had to go back a second time on our vacation. The Tokyo Hot Chicken sandwich made vegan with oyster mushrooms was sooo good. And the bagels were so yummy. They have several breakfast and lunch sandwiches that can be veganized and they do it thoughtfully. Nomad donuts is a must-try.

I picked at the three v. donuts and ate the entire bagel. The bagel is exceptionally overboard in taste.

Lots of Vegan options - Edit
This was our first time here. I knew that it would be busy as it was later on a Sunday morning. The service was friendly but slow. They take your order and someone else fills the order, so our donuts and drip coffee came out separately.

Great variety, good taste - Edit
There are a pretty good amount of donuts that are vegan (only 3 we’re not). Overall the flavors were good and the texture spongey and chewy.

Great BLTA, ok donuts - Edit
I had the BLTA bagel sandwich and it’s was very tasty and filling. I tried two donuts and both of them were just okay - s’mores and strawberry rhubarb. Very quick service and friendly staff.

Bagels!! - Edit
We decided to stop by here today and get a few donuts, and I grabbed a bagel. First of all, I was impressed by how many vegan options were available. We were there around 10:30, and they were a little picked over but not enough to be noticeable.
Read moreWe decided to try the Thai Tea, Pandan Coconut, Maple, Carrot Walnut, and Bumble Berry Peanut donuts. The donuts were tasty, but definitely not the best donuts I have had and a little oily. However, the bagel stole the show. I got the vegan special: salted rosemary bagel filled with tofu ricotta, apricot jam, fresh basil, and arugula. It was soo tasty, especially the tofu ricotta, which was so fluffy and incredibly similar to a dairy cream cheese.
The staff was friendly and vegan-aware. The shop was tiny, and there was a line, but it moved quickly. The parking was horrible, but it is North Park, so it is expected. I will definitely come back, and while I may skip the donuts or opt for one to split with someone else, I will be dreaming about the bagels and tofu ricotta. If you like bagels and are in the area, I recommend giving this place a try!
Pros: lots of vegan options , friendly staff , quick service
Cons: parking

Bagels! - Edit
Their 2 vegan bagel sandwiches are super good!! For their donuts- I love all vegan donuts so even though they’re not the very best they’re vegan which makes them amazing. And I honestly did think they were really good.

Not great - Edit
Donuts were dry and all just tasted sweet without much in the way of different flavors. The icing was also very sloppy, looked like a 4th grader had slapped it on. The cashier was rude and unhelpful when I asked a couple of questions about flavors. Overall disappointed, would not get again.

So-so vegan donuts - Edit
They seemed to have better quality vegan donuts at their previous location in Normal Heights which was smaller. At the new, bigger North Park location the donuts have gone downhill. Yes, they do offer various exciting flavors like Ube, Coconut mango, and Blueberry lemon, but they are pretty much the same donut with different glazes. Furthermore, they are the saddest-looking glazed donuts I have ever seen. If you’re lucky you’ll find one that is adequately covered completely around the top. Otherwise, it looks like some lazy painter flicked his or her paintbrush a few times. They don’t look like they were made carefully and lovingly; they look sloppy.

Love the vegan donuts here!! - Edit
I’ve been to Nomad Donuts a couple times and tried a handful of their vegan donuts - they never ever disappoint! The are definitely fancy donuts and the price reflects that, but in my opinions the donut quality is well worth it! This place always has lots of vegan donut options available. Can’t wait to go back again and again!

Great, fresh doughnuts! - Edit
Their raised doughnut dough is great, and always tasted fresh. I personally wished they had more vegan filled-doughnut options, but they have a lot of overall flavor options, so wouldn't dock them for that. They also have vegan cream cheese and butter options for their house-made bagels (I didn't try any).

Horrible! DO NOT GO!! - Edit
These were literally, without exaggeration, the worst donuts I’ve ever had in my life. Also, they were $3 a piece!
Read moreThere are 4 types of donuts: donuts that are incredible, donuts that are good, donuts that are bad but you will still eat them because they are donuts and who doesn’t want a donut, and then donuts that are so bad you can’t even eat them. I’ve never had a donut in the fourth category...until I went to Nomad Donuts. The vegan donuts were literally like bagels with bad frosting. The donuts snapped when I bit into them and they were grossly chewy. I got a lemon poppyseed and a Mexican chocolate, took one bite out of each, and promptly threw them away. Seriously....DO NOT GO!!

The place is nice. There's always a line during the weekend, but it's worth it for those amazing bagels. I recommend adding vegan cream cheese or hummus.

Good but not great - Edit
They were sold out of a number of flavors (like regular chocolate and vanilla). I sampled a couple of vegan donuts (Thai peanut and a cherry filled with chocolate glaze). They were good but not as good as Voodoo Donuts or Donut Friend. My non-vegan wife tried some of the non-vegan ones and came to the same conclusion.

I tried 6 vegan donuts and I don't understand what all the fuss is about. They all lacked flavor and were just plain bland. Staff were very friendly though.

Best Donuts in SD - Edit
I've been here many times. Consistently the best vegan donuts in SD! So many unbelievably interesting flavor combinations, like "The Lebowski White Russian". I especially LOVE the donut holes too (4 for $1...great deal). The great thing about Nomad is they don't just have a couple of vegan flavors, I usually see 8 or more each time! But they do sell out quickly so it's worth calling to check if you are craving a particular flavor that you saw them post on their Instagtam (they always post the flavors on IG a day in advance). The donuts are not cheap (most cost $3 each), but they are large and very well made...truly artisanal donuts HaHa. Enjoy!
