Best restaurant in Edinburgh

Truly blown away by the food here. You truly truly would not be able to tell any of it is vegan - the cheeses on the pizza and pasta (I think they are Julienne Bruno) are phenomenal and every single bite was exceptional! I really couldn’t recommend this place more - it is a bit on the spenny side but the food quality is worth it and the vibe is small and lovely. 10/10.

Amazing Italian food

As an American I thought this would be like a Boston or New York sub shop. Nope! This is the real deal Italian restaurant. We all had the pasta, including some gluten free, and it was amazing. Don't miss this place!

Pros: Food, Service, Ambiance (pleasant not stuffy)

Fantastic Italian food in a safe, inclusive place!

The food here is phenomenal! My boyfriend had the spaghettone aglio olio and he told me it was the best pasta aglio olio he ever had!
I came here specifically for the pizza quattro formaggi and it was amazing too! You wouldn't be able to tell it apart from a 'real' one with non-vegan cheese. I wish I lived nearby so I could come here and have it all the time!
We also had the rosemary foccacia as a starter, and the panna cotta with red fruit sauce and torta mimosa as desserts. All were so freaking good!
The prosseco mixes we got (strawberry and peach) were delicious too.

Not only is the food fantastic, this place is incredibly inclusive aswell. The toilet has a specific sign that says "non-gendered" and there are pride flags and rainbows everywhere.

I highly recommend this place! Hope to come back during my next visit to Scotland.

Terrific food

As a non-vegan among a family of vegans, this was excellent. Lots of choices for starters, pasta, pizza, and dessert. Everything was fantastic.

Too salty for me

After reading all the good reviews my partner and I were expecting so much but unfortunately food(garlic focaccia , gnocchi with 4 cheese, even pitachio lemon cake) were too salty for us. I wish I could give 5 stars as a vegan to fully vegan restaurant. Food could be reaaally delicious if only it was less salty.
But everyone around us seemed to be enjoying their meals so maybe we weren't lucky or have different taste buds.

I can't believe this!

You would not believe it's vegan! The burrata was incredible and the other dishes so creamy too. Highly recommend the focaccia, burrata and tiramisu

Amazing vegan Italian

The food here is absolutely incredible and the restaurant itself has such a nice cosy vibe. I got the cacciatora which honestly could probably feed a small family… would definitely be one of my top recommendations for vegan food in Edinburgh!

Like Being in Italy

I was in Edinburgh for a nice solo birthday getaway. I was looking for a place to enjoy my birthday dinner & was looking for somewhere casual, chill with plenty of vegan options.

Well, I found just that & it happened to be a fully vegan restaurant. Novapizza is a cozy spot and a great place for a date, small celebration or if you’re like me and enjoy a solo experience.

The customer service was on point and the waitress ensured I was looked after all evening. The menu - so many amazing things to choose from and all the food that was coming out looked mouth watering.

I got the focaccela romana as a starter, the Carbonara as the main and the tiramisu. Everything was 100% and on point. It was just as good as being in Italy - which is no surprise as it’s run by lovely Italians.

Thank you for the lovely experience, I’ll be back for sure!

Amazing

The best starter I’ve ever had - focacella romana and burrata - can’t even explain how it was so good and the bread was so warm
I also had carbonara which wasn’t as expected when it said scrambled egg - was delicious would recommend if you like tofu (i think that’s what they used)
Dessert was very nice as well, I had an Oreo cheesecake
Must just add that it is quite expensive so more of a treat

Great vegan Italian restaurant

Make sure you book for this one as it’s small inside. We had pizza, garlic bread and a creamy pasta. All were super tasty, and would definitely recommend if you’re in the area although it’s more on the expensive side.

Pros: It’s all vegan!, Very good selection

Best vegan cheese EVER!

You must try this place if you find yourself in Edinburgh! It’s been two years since I’ve been and I still think about this place regularly. The food was absolutely spectacular. Nothing even comes close! I dream about the vegan cheese.

Yummy pizza & pasta dishes enjoyed! 🤩 they could do with slightly more room & they was a bit of a wait although was great to see the place busy!

They also added a lovely touch to our table as we were celebrating our 2 years together ❤️ really appreciated!

The life and times, the art and talk

An exquisitely intimate and authentic restaurant where you can feel part of the family. We shared a penne amatriciana, pepperoni pizza and roast garlic and rosemary potatoes. A carafe of Pinot Grigio wine at £20 knocked the bill up to £65 for two. Regrets? None!! It was St Andrew’s Day after all.

Pros: Intimate , Fabulous food

Cons: Pricey beers

Incredible Italian

Wow! The food here is honestly incredible and worth the hype. Some of the best Italian food we have ever had!

We had the
-Garlic focaccia (banging)
-Carbonara (didn’t see all the recommendations on Happy Cow, but after having it, we don’t blame people recommending, it’s delicious)
- Ortolana pizza - (also banging)
Overall, the flavours were incredibly well-balanced. They’ve won awards for their pasta, and it’s obvious why.

Staff were great and there was a nice vibe. I’d consider booking, it was quite busy when we were there!

Pros: Food , Decor, Ambience
